Calif. school day would honor homosexual pioneer

The California State Senate is poised to vote on a bill making an official "homosexual day" in every public school.

It would be called "Harvey Milk Day" in honor of the openly homosexual San Francisco Board of Supervisors member who was shot and killed in 1978 along with the city's mayor, George Moscone. S.B. 572, which was approved 7-to-2 out of committee last week, says observances conducted on May 22 should recognize Milk's "accomplishments as well as the contributions he made to this state" -- and that "all public schools and educational institutions are encouraged to observe...and...conduct suitable commemorative exercises."

Randy Thomasson of SaveCalifornia.com says the legislation designates just another day to indoctrinate children in the tenets of homosexuality.

So instead of the phrase “Celebrate Diversity”, it’s now “Celebrate Perversity”.

If you read the comments at the end of the article, most people are outraged at this. What is the point of California shoving this down people’s throats? Parents are right to remove their children for the day and should consider removing them permanently. That’s the only way they’re going to get their schools back if they want them back. Hit them in the pocket book, destroy the schools and the careers of the teachers and administrators pushing this stuff, and start all over again (that is if there is enough goodwill to rebuild the schools).

Okay, let's see....

He was a pervert.

He supported Jim Jones.

Any other reasons why we should honor this guy?

Harvey Milk was a supporter of the People’s Temple. Without his support, Jim Jones would not have been able to get 1,00 people to kill themselves, their children and a congressman.

Kalifornia seems to be doing their level best to drive productive, traditional values people out of their state. And those are the people who fund the tax monster that pays the way for all the illegals and welfare bums. Hey Arnold, when they all leave, who will pay for your socialist utopia?
Libs are awfully good at strangling their golden geese.

A true homosexual pioneer! Who would have thought that today sick perverts would be compared to pioneers.

This is pure evil.

Evil? How is it evil? This is why our side is not taken seriously sometimes, of all the things to say, you say evil.

Say what it really is. Stupid. This is stupid. ABSOLUTELY STUPID. The Stupidity of the CA legislation is mind blowing.

We do not need a day for everyone who may have done something at sometime somewhere. Stupid.

The CA state government should be removed from office.

Creating "special days" for people does nothing AT ALL to better the residents of the state, students in schools, or other people who may actually need help.

Below is a rant against being PC and against anyone who treats minorities as if they are better than everyone else and other assorted rants I felt like adding:

I'm tired of all this PC crap ... EVERYONE is the same. EVERYONE is equal. Why do certain minority groups feel they are better than everyone else (Gays, Transgenders, African Americans, Muslims) and they need a a special day just for themselves. In my eyes, and gods eyes, EVERYONE is EQUAL. If you are white, in a liberals eyes, you are inferior. How do they get off thinking that? That's discrimination in itself.

Why does one minority group of people get special attention over another? Why do they get attention at all, if everyone is equal, everyone should have the same exposure.

I know, who am I to ask such ridiculous questions!

“Evil? How is it evil? This is why our side is not taken seriously sometimes, of all the things to say, you say evil.”

Because homosexuality is a moral evil.

For the State to promote homosexuality to young children in an unspeakable evil.

It’s not “stupid”, it’s evil.

News Flash: the “other side” will never take our side seriously as long as we oppose their march to perversion.

It’s not “stupid”, it’s evil.

Yes it is. It is very stupid. I can not think of anything else that is as stupid as this ... REAL STUPID.

I am definitely not the only one who feels this is stupid ... What a waste of time for the CA congress to debate ...

Incredibly stupid.

News Flash: the “other side” will never take our side seriously as long as we oppose their march to perversion.

What reality are you living in where there are only two sides? There are numerous sides to every issue ... But the real issue here is not an issue of morals, but an issue of government waste. The local CA government has wasted their time and the TAX PAYERS money by attempting to create "special days" for special interest groups.

Fiscal Responsibility. NOT representing special interests. Those are two sound conservative principals that EVERYBODY can relate to and which this issue touches heavily on.

A large part of the population does not relate to the "moral police" nor do they care. However at the same time, A large part of the population does not want tax money to go to mindless idiotic ideas such as a

“What reality are you living in where there are only two sides? “

I live in the world where homosexuality is a moral evil and indoctrinating children is something far worse that just “wasteful government spending.”

Apparently you live in some misty netherworld where they only arbiter of right and wrong is whether taxpayer’s money is being wasted or not.

So if there is a way for the State to indoctrinate children into the homosexual lifestyle in a “fiscal responsible” manner, your good with that?

Sorry, that’s utterly bankrupt.

Homosexuality is a moral evil.

The State indoctrinating children into homosexuality is a horrific moral evil.

Deal with it.
