Needed: a new name or better acronym for Tea Parties?? (very brief Vanity)

TEA in Tea Parties has been interpreted as standing for Taxed Enough Already. This is catchy and a clever linkage to the original Boston Tea Party. However it is such a narrow acronym that it seriously understates the scope of the current protest movement and lends credence to the lefts assertion that Tea Party protestors are just greedy rich people afraid theyll have to pay a little more in taxes. The hundreds of thousands who are involved in todays Tea Party movement are well informed Americans, deeply concerned about a host of issues beyond taxes: national security, socialization, corruption, voter fraud, illegal immigration, and abortion, to name just a few. It seems to me the movement would be better served a better served by a different definition of the acronym TEA or an entirely new name something stronger than tea. Do you agree? If so, your thoughts and creative suggestions could be helpful to protest organizers and participants.

Why do we need an acronym or a new name? The name refers back to a key and profound part of U.S. history. That fact alone should suffice for anyone in the movement.

IMHO “Tea Party” was just fine for the one time “insurrection” on April 15th.
For the future - - find something else entirely - but don’t waste time looking for a catchy phrase or slogan.

The socialist media's panties are already in a bind over the tea parties.

TEA PARTY beats the HELL out of ACORN.....
Marketing wize...everyone in the United States knows about us Tea Party folks...and that it wants an end to wasteful spending.
Everyone now knows that ACORN is a wickedly criminal enterprize.

My only suggestion is that people learn the full history of the original Boston Tea Party.

While the MSM is already bent on misunderstanding, the present moniker makes that flub on their part easier. First they thought it was about taxes. Only very recently have they begun to report that it is not just about taxes but about spending. But we also sound off about policy at Tea Parties, and that is the most important thing of all.
Granted, “representation” could be an issue here. The considerable few red states who are represented by Republicans are getting their wishes virtually ignored in Washington. But this almost has to be pointed up as part as a catchy sound bite to avoid getting misconscrewed.

Don't change horses in mid stream. A change would be a indicate weakness and show that The Tea Party People can be influenced by the ratz.
