I think the thing pointed out in this article that stands out is the administration says LEO deaths in the line of duty are decreasing when in fact they aren’t.

IIRC the local version of this story from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette claimed the program was running a surplus so it really didn't cut anything from the fallen officer's families.

Also the local police union head was on board with cutting the program so no matter how wrong it is the moonbats won't get upset over it.
