A professor wanted for killing his wife and two other people at a community theater two weeks ago was found dead in the north Georgia woods Saturday, his body covered in brush and dirt, officials said.
Two guns were found with the body of marketing professor George Zinkhan, who vanished after the April 25 shootings near the University of Georgia, said Athens-Clarke County Police Chief Joseph Lumpkin.
The guns matched those described by witnesses to the shootings, though police did not say how they believe Zinkhan died. Authorities hoped to have a cause of death by the end of Saturday.
Cadaver dogs found Zinkhan's body about 10 miles west of Athens in thick woods in Bogart, where he lived. Searchers as many as 200 at one point had been scouring the woods since his Jeep was found wrecked and abandoned in a ravine about a mile away a week ago.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab confirmed later Saturday that the body was Zinkhan....

I hate to make lite of this story, but do you think — maybe — the squirrels killed him? You don’t suppose that it is possible that he may have off’d himself.
Sounds like suicide to me!
Squirrels have been known to go after nuts like this.
He should have done them all a favor by killing himself FIRST. Some nice people would now be alive if he had done that. No sympathy for him from me.
So, is he still wanted?
Prayers for those young children, and the loved ones who are left in the wake of this tragedy. How horrible that the children were with him when he killed their mother. God bless and be with them, and help them to heal.
Sounds to me, there's still a killer on the loose.. just a thought.
Particularly the part where he covered himself with dirt afterward.
That's as bad as the guy they found in the next town up from where I live...dead in his trunk, shot through the head...head wrapped in plastic and the police "suspected foul play"...go figure...
It sure does. Bodies don't bury themselves.
What a mysterious case.
The guy should get some credit for not killing the kids, which seems to be popular lately.
He had leaves and stuff on him, not dirt. Looked like he covered what he could then shot himself.
Apparently he was not the good guy everyone described. He was a predator at HOuston when he taught there ,,married but harassed multiple untenured women and grad students. He got off via a cover up. Don’t know what he was like at Georgia.
Bear in mind that this guy was considered one of the more NORMAL professors.
The fact that the children were with him when he shot their mother makes one wonder if he had thought about killing the kids too. He did have the guns in the vehicle when he went to the theater.
Thank goodness he didn’t do any physical harm to them, but it breaks the heart to think of the emotional damage they will suffer. It’s going to be a hard row to hoe for those who are charged with the responsibility of raising them.
Just going with what I saw in the excerpt. I probably need to look at the AJC or Banner Herald or even the Pink & Mulatto for some detail.
I have not heard your facts. Do you have a source for the facts? Your facts are consistent with his behavior at Georgia. Universities have become very sensitive about sexual harrassment so I am unclear how these incidents were covered up unless they occurred a long time ago.
That was the clincher.
I hate to make lite of this story, but do you think maybe the squirrels killed him?
They's lots of thangs up in them woods that would kill a man. Squirrels aint the half of it.
