When 22 year old Grove City College student John Gechter began modeling for the porn industry, he was warned that eventually he would be discovered by the public-at-large. Less than 24 hours after a fellow student found the online images, they were emailed all over campus and sent to the college administration. “It’s a conservative school, so juicy gossip like this would fly around campus quickly,” said Gechter in a lengthy phone interview with our newsroom.
Gechter said school officials acted quickly and gave him three choices: Withdraw, be suspended, or appeal. “I didn’t like any of the three choices,” said Gechter. The molecular biology major has assembled a team of lawyers and filed an appeal. “I never considered the school would kick me out for doing something legal.”

Thursday afternoon, the college released this statement:
The statement below will be the only comment from the College regarding this issue. "The student's suspension resulted from his involvement in the adult pornography industry. The student acknowledged that he was employed in the adult entertainment industry and that he knew that violated the student code of conduct. Throughout this process, his sexual orientation was not a factor in the decision. Since that decision, he has voluntarily chosen to withdraw from Grove City College." End of statement.
It comes as no surprise to Gechter that most Grove City students take the side of the school administration. “Most of the college is very conservative, very closed minded.” He admits his behavior is in conflict with the code of conduct in the student manual, but feels his 16 month suspension is more than it should be. Gechter says he faces school charges of sexual misconduct, participating in the public display of pornography, and adhering to standards which do not follow the mission or values of the college.
Gechter, who works under the online name of Vincent DeSalvo, began modeling at the age of 19. During a shoot he was approached by an agent from the porn industry. “They told me I had the perfect body for pornography,” said Gechter. Lured by the considerable promise of money, “3-5 thousand dollars per scene,” Gechter entered the industry at the age of 20. An online search of his porn name instantly brings up many of his sites, all designed for an internet audience.
From here, Gechter is pursuing legal options. He will probably transfer his credits to another school. “I already have 135 credits which in most schools is enough to graduate. Hopefully I only have to take a few more classes,” says Gechter. He is undecided whether he will remain in the porn industry.

I bet he went there to disrupt the school under somebody’s orders. The Left works that way, and I am not being paranoid.

I assume that you were presenting ‘their’ argument, but, just to be sure, the counter argument to what you posited is that race is something that is beyond a person's control to change (except if you have Michael Jackson's wealth) while sexuality is a preference. This is why the homonfascists changed the term from “sexual preference” to “sexual orientation” — it makes it sound more like a condition from birth.
As the argument against gay marriage is, “where does it end, should parents and children or two brothers or two sisters be able to marry? Or is polygamy acceptable, then?” so the argument against homosexuality as an unalterable condition and therefore deserving of “human rights” protections would be that of heterosexual, serial adultery. That is, if homosexuals can claim their behavior should be protected, then heterosexual men who are married can claim to have a condition that forces the to commit adultery and they should therefore be a protected class.
This is absurd, of course, as both are behavioral choices. But this is where the homofascists have led this country with their accomplices in black robes.
In the school's statement on the matter, clearly, the issue here is the student's conduct. That is, he has been suspended because he participated actively in pornography. It doesn't matter what type of pornography.
Of course, his lawyer might try to twist the story to make it look like an issue of sexual orientation. If so, can't a private college that doesn't accept government funds refuse to accept a student on any basis? It's my understanding that Grove City is a private college that refuses government funds so that they don't have to abide by Title IX. (I also read the school has a thriving women's sports program without Title IX.)

I’m in NC. We homeschooled although my children attend a Classical Christian school for high school. GCC is well known amongst homeschoolers (at least classical homeschoolers). There were 40 in his graduating class and 5 of them are at GCC this year; one from last year. A friend’s husband is a physics prof there. They have high academic standards and no fluff. It is an excellent academic value for your money. Very small town, campus is basically it although there is a nice outlet mall at the interstate. My son absolutely loves it there.
Why did this sodomite choose a religious school? Was he looking for a confrontation or is it just a coincidence?
I read about Grove City College some time ago, and I’ve been a fan every since. I love the fact that the school refused government funding and is thriving without it. I wish all colleges would do the same.
This is an open and shut case. The school was well within its rights. I doubt even the most liberal activist group will file a case (since they know it will be thrown out. There are dozens of test cases which show that a private school can indeed demand moral conduct of its students. A Christian college is in no way forced to accept Satanists, sodomites, or NAMBLA members. Luckily, religious groups still have a few freedoms left. This sick kid had no business working in homo-porn (think of the AIDS danger alone). He should have just gotten a regular job instead of seeking quick cash.
Especially if he signed the code of conduct, or it was part of the admissions process to the school. It has nothing to do with him being gay, per se, but more about the violation of the conduct code. The ruling about the two lesbians being expelled from a Christian school will provide the grounds for this case, if taken to court.
