White House Military Office Chief Resigns Over Plane Flyover Flap
Louis Caldera, the man who organized the low-flying Air Force One plane that panicked New York City, delivered his resignation Friday as the White House released a photo of the plane.

Who initiated this plan? Who wanted "updated" pictures of AF1 (or 2) flying over NYC?
It obviously wasn't Caldera's idea, or the military's idea. So whose idea was it?
If I had to guess, I'd say his initials were DA (and his first name is David, and he has a desk right outside of O's office).
Because it's all about the visual mythology of the O.
GREAT QUESTION!!! WHO IS SCOTT TURNER???? WHY DID HE DO IT?? I really HATE these people.
But that doesn't make any sense so he's a mastermind supervillain, sitting in his office plotting future gaffes for us to laugh about? He's not even allowed to let his underlings make mistakes too?
All I'm saying is, we should laugh at the story because it's a good tale of administrative incompetence. The idea that Obama has to personally order everything bad that happens under his watch is ridiculous.
is that really the pic? how did they take the picture from a satellite? There were no photo planes in the air.
LIES ALL LIES
IMPORTANT THEME,, OBAMA WAS BETRAYED BY LAZY UNDERLINGS.
Who was in Atlantic City on that day?
And what does any of that have to do with whether or not this photo is out of perspective?
Perhaps you’re not expressing your thoughts soooooo well?
Classic ‘patsy’ fall guy. Everyone in the White House knew and everyone knows that. Some know it but won’t acknowledge it. End of story.
It was not the Air Force’s idea to fly Air Force One over the Statue of Liberty.
WH. Release the passenger manifest.

I report, you decide.
;-)
$357,000 for a photo that I could have snapped with my $99 digital camera.
And did they spend $357,000 for ONE photo? Where are the others?
I still haven’t heard if the Secret Service was briefed in on the use of Air Force 1 for a 3 hour photo op.
If that plane was in New York, that means the other plane HAD to be ready to fly on demand. The SS and the flight crews MUST coordinate this action.
This was all done at the behest of Louis Caldera? No Freakin Way.
No matter how many times I see that video, I cannot watch 0:34 - 0:38 without getting freaked out. But I am 10 miles from Ground Zero.
Whoa!
Just covering for Obama.
That looks like they scrambled and found “a photo” from that day. And lucky for them, the F-16 pilot probably had his sony cybershot in his pocket. Took em a week or 2 to shag it down and get him to confess (pleading to him that there would be NO discipline if he had one). There is no way thats the kind of photograph that results from the effort it took to put all those assets there.
Also still havent seen the F-16 aerial photography model, or the stabilized photo pod they would use. And NO a tactical recon pod doesnt make glossy photos like you see in the Red Bull ads, or in Air Show type photos.
We are being lied to on a friday afternoon. That damned liar.
A couple of points- first of all I would think the flyover would have been planned more than three days out- so he should have been notified sooner. Second this should have been discussed face to face or at least by phone, not just a memo item in an email. I agree he should check his email more often, but two of the days were weekend, and I doubt he is supposed to access his email from anywhere other than his office. If he had been on a trip, out for the weekend, and out for back pain then that explains the time lag also.
I see this guy as a patsy.
This guy is just the fall guy as I see it. This release makes him look like an idiot- but it’s not that clear to me that he is the only bad guy in this event. This seems to be a case where more than one person had to drop the ball; I think this played out somewhat differently. I still want to know WHO was on that flight, I think that will be very telling if we find out.
