A couple of points- first of all I would think the flyover would have been planned more than three days out- so he should have been notified sooner. Second this should have been discussed face to face or at least by phone, not just a memo item in an email. I agree he should check his email more often, but two of the days were weekend, and I doubt he is supposed to access his email from anywhere other than his office. If he had been on a trip, out for the weekend, and out for back pain then that explains the time lag also.

This guy is just the fall guy as I see it. This release makes him look like an idiot- but it’s not that clear to me that he is the only bad guy in this event. This seems to be a case where more than one person had to drop the ball; I think this played out somewhat differently. I still want to know WHO was on that flight, I think that will be very telling if we find out.
Read the report. Planning started earlier; he was notified a week before the flight (April 20), but "doesn't recall" that meeting. In my opinion there's a much higher chance the guy is a moron rather than a patsy.
