ONDON Busty women have banded together to battle Britain's largest clothing retailer over a surcharge for extra-large brassieres. Frustrated with failed attempts to convince Marks & Spencer to drop a 2 pound ($3) extra charge for sizes DD and larger, the women plan to take their fight to the company's annual meeting.
"They aren't listening to customers, maybe they'll listen to shareholders," said Beckie Williams, a founder of Busts 4 Justice who has purchased a share of M&S stock so she can attend the meeting. "People think it would be great to have big boobs, but it's an emotional issue, it can make you feel isolated, and shopping at Marks & Spencer can make you feel like a freak when they charge you extra."

You've never had a daughter? The breast tissue that develops first is generally the area around the nipple. This leads to a bit of a protrusion that is embarrassing (because it doesn't look like a real breast, it appears pointy) and doesn't look nice under clothes. A bra smooths things out.
But they feel bad, so they win.
Not to put too fine a point on it but the calculation was made by subtracting the circumference immediately below the breast from the circumference at the nipple line. To obtain a minus 1 would imply a depression rather than a protrusion.
I confess no daughter but I do have the text called A Stress Analysis of a Strapless Evening Gown
Sorry, I wasn't thinking a minus one. I assumed you were using a hyphen to offset the number or something. Ooops.
Sounds like a fascinating document! Boy, some of those contraptions are little more than torture devices given the support needed to hold them up. Luckily, my good sense has allowed me to accept that my strapless days are well over.
Silly me!
