In the twilight of his career, "M*A*S*H" actor David Ogden Stiers has finally come out, saying he's no longer afraid to be gay.

Hey, I met Carel Struycken (Lurch) at a photography conference a few years back - we do the same kind of panoramic photography.
He seemed like a pretty cool guy, and has a wife & kids.
ALL RIGHT!! I TRIED-I really did...but I could never get through an entire episode. I guess I’m not the only one. I thought it sucked-BIG-TIME-and could NEVER understand how and why it was such a hit.
He came to Korea from Mass General.....he’s Queee-ah
I loved ALF, but the others I’m with you on. They sucked also. MAD ABOUT YOU and MOONLIGHTING were two more I never watched.
As if that didn’t stand out on him during the show like a neon sign!
Don’t care if the actor is gay, I want to know if the *character* was gay.
In other news Sun rises in East sets in West.
Pope is Catholic.
Bear defecates in woods...
O come on.
Who *wasn’t* hot for Mr. Homn?
I know I was!
“My Dear Sister Honoria....”
I thought he had a wonderful role in M*A*S*H and was a tremendous improvement over Burns. Burns was a very one-dimensional character, and Winchester was the exact opposite: quite complex. I thought it was a very well-written character and well portrayed by Stiers.
Unlikely. Winchester (and his family) were far right-wing, so it would be out of character. Also, Winchester had several relationships on the show including, initially, with Hot Lips.
Come out as half black?
Nope. Been done already.
Oh, then say you're "gay."
Yeah, that's the ticket. Not homosexual, gay.
Woo Hoo! We're in the money.
Larry Craig was far-right wing and *he* was gay.
Touche.
Once Frank’s relationship with Houlihan ended, that role was difficult to accept for the reasons you mentioned.
The first time I heard “Son of a bitch” on TV was when Alda’s character chastised a South Korean official who was translating to Hawkeye the punishment a certain North Korean prisoner would inflict upon Hawkeye, who of course, was sympathetic to the North Korean.
so that explains why he was more willing to go back to the home planet to die rather than be with a woman who offered him the universe.
This is just sad. his career is essentially over and he should have left his body of work alone. It seems this happens with out of work end of career actors who are exposing their dirty laundry just before their ends.
What!!?!? A gay actor??
