The White House says it will indeed release a photograph from the $329,000 "photo shoot'' of one of the Air Force jumbo jets that serve as Air Force One when the president is aboard but mainly served to scare a lot of New Yorkers in that recent flyover.
President Barack Obama voiced outrage over the incident, as did the mayor of New York, the senior senator from New York and many street-level New Yorkers who didn't know what to make of the presidential aircraft trailed by an F-16 fighter making low arcs over the Hudson River. It was a "photo-op,'' the Federal Aviation Administration explained at the time -- freshening up the photo gallery for Air Force One...

The key thing is what unit that F-16 was from. It was part of show, not the plane taking the pics. If it was from the Alabama Air National Guard, then this whole stunt was basically a promo for the Lucas Red Tail film.

What about a passenger list?

I still want to know why the feds prohibited police/911 folks from letting the public know this was going to happen.

I can’t wait for the explanation as to why the Red Tails were used as chase planes.

Once the photo is released, contest for duplicating it in Photoshop with existing file pics of NYC and Air Force One?

Because of their historical ties to the 332nd Fighter Group.. the Tuskegee Airman of WWII.
Its Painfully obvious why the 187th Fight Wing, Alabama ANG planes were used as Chase Planes..

The headline made me think this was an archived story about x42 and Lewinsky flying the friendly skies.

Its Painfully obvious why the 187th Fight Wing, Alabama ANG planes were used as Chase Planes.. It certainly is. Will it be notably explained by the WH and noticeably covered by the MSM? /rhetorical questions

We’d never hear the end of it if W did this. The Congressional hearings would go on for years.

I wish it was mine. I was trying to find the Air Force One version of North by Northwest, but found that and thought it was funnier. However the scale isn't right (or else everyone on AF1 was eleven feet tall).

Man, my BS detector is going off big time (it’s been doing that a lot the last three months). Sorry, I don’t buy the whole “photo-op” story. Maybe a joy ride for a middle-eastern contributor was more like it, and he might have gotten some pics. Maybe even some video too.
To: Signolife
Oh good one photograph to be released. Guess the camera’s did’nt have much film.
