(AP) — MADISON, Wis. - The White House is planning a muted observance of Thursday's National Day of Prayer, a response that has disappointed both Christian conservatives and an atheist group that wants to end the tradition.

Congress established the day in 1952 and in 1988 set the first Thursday in May as the day for presidents to issue proclamations asking Americans to pray.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said President Barack Obama would issue such a proclamation Thursday but not hold any public events with religious leaders as President George W. Bush did.

“...scaled back National Day of Prayer.”

Yeah we have arrived as a nation.

We are flush with material wealth and led by legions of Ivy League attorneys.

We don’t need any more of that time-consuming and superstitious nonsense that 3000 years of Western Civilization turned to regularly

Whats funny is that while DU and their ilk had all kinds of rapid insults for President Bush, the ones at FR for the One seem to be imbued with a scary and revealing bits of truth. “Worship Me” is a fine, unsettling, example.... Very unsettling, since IMO, there is a bit of truth to it.

What are you guys expecting here? Everything is going ok and wonderful...no reason to get God involved on a perfect plan....right? Well....right?

In his case....God is kinda like a good relief pitcher....coming in around the ninth and finishing up a already perfect job. No reason to get hot and heavy over this prayer business.

Obama should be seen as a disgrace by wholesome God fearing Blacks in our nation.

He is representin’, no doubt about it, but his motto should be, “Disgrace the Race!” That is ultimately what he is accomplishing.

In truth, I am very sad that this caliber of person was the first Black president. There are Blacks out there that are so much better.

Revelations Chapter 3

13He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

17Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
