But seriously -- the thing that strikes me more and more about Obama is that he is not grounded in American history and culture. In fact, he's not even reasonably conversant with it. He's ignorant of classics, literature, history, and just about anything that those Dead White European Males came up with.
Socialist grandparents, an out and out commie for a mother, raised in Indonesia and then in Hawaii . . . . and along the way he failed to learn much of anything about Western culture. Not surprising, since he went to college in an era when the professors spent most of their time deconstructing Western civilization. The professors, of course, assumed that their pupils had a basic grounding in the material they were deconstructing.
Obama does not. It is horrifying that the electorate could put such an uneducated and ignorant person into office to run a system he doesn't understand -- and doesn't WANT to understand. Probably because, thanks to the government school system, most of them don't get it either.
I thought Cinco de Mayo meant to throw the jar of mayonnaise into the lake.
Don't mean squat. The greasers, beaners, and taco-benders are all assuming the position for Mr. Macho Man even as we speak. Hispanic men with integrity are obviously excluded from the above.
The more remarkable comment comes a sentence after his inept attempt at humor, when he makes reference to the Obama White House. Gee, remember back in the old days when it belonged to the American people?

I think it was scripted, but misread. He may have intended to say “quatro de Mayo”, but flubbed it. His notes seemed to help him on a “doing things in advance at the White House” theme.
The guy seems helpless without a teleprompter.

The empty suit has passed President Bush on Bushisms, hasn’t he, in these first 100 daze? Suave, debonair, intellectual, charismatic—I always thought they meant HolyO, but in reality they were describing TOTUS! LOL. ;-)
