Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney headlined congressional Republicans' big new policy conclave over the weekend, stressing the need to listen to real Americans, but also appearing to slap a potential rival for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.
At the National Council for a New America's first "conversation" in Arlington, Va., Romney, who ran for the Republican nomination last year and has kept his name in the conversation for 2012, joined House Republican Whip Eric Cantor and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush in presiding over the panel.
"Ive learned that when you sit in a position of responsibility as you do now and as we did once, you typically get the best ideas that really make a difference from people that youre serving," Romney said, citing his experience helping pass the Bay State's universal healthcare plan.

Another Slick Willie
Nah, it will dry up too much of his funding.
It is interesting to note that Romney dropped out a week after the last LDS prophet (Gordon B. Hinkley) died.
Didn’t Romney say he couldn’t imagine running for president in 2012? Am I misremembering?
(not that I believed him...just doing a flip-flop check)
GET LOST ROMNEY< NO MORE RINOS

ROFLMBO
:)
oh joy
well i for one will not vote for him in the primary
sad thing is though he MAY have a good shot at securing the nomination. he already has already campaigned cross country and can reactivate his network fairly easily. he has boatloads of his own cash still (at least i think he does) and name recognition. Of course it would depend on who else jumps into the fray but if Palin doesnt go for it and Sanford cant get off the ground i think Romney may be Last Man Standing as it were. granted this is purely speculative on my part - call it an educated guess. this all being said i really hope it is not him
Agreed. At this point, I still compare Palin's popularity to Hussein's. They both have the right words (yes, Hussein's come from a teleprompter). At this point, if you give Palin and Hussein white men's bodies, any talk of putting either in the White House would be premature (more so for Hussein).
Mitt will never have a track record NOR substance.
Mitt's track record reveals his lack of substance.
If Romney care is one of the “best ideas” we’re in big trouble—but let’s face it, folks, he was paid A LOTTA BIG BUCKS for his big idea—it’s kind of like Al Gore and Global Warming...he’s invested!! And so are a LOTTA other BIG BOYS..
My hours must be limited because the place where I work doesn't want to pay medical insurance for me (not that I blame them either).
Business need to save costs and this healthcare places a heave (too heavy) burden on businesses.
That doesn't matter to his fellow LDS crowd. They will crawl through broken glass to defend his pro-abortion statements and stances, his pro-gay agenda, his liberal judicial appointments in MA, his socialized medicine disasters, and everything else about him because........he is a fellow Mormon.
When you look across that picture, not a single one of those men has put a child into the uniform of the American Military. That says a lot.
Romney hasn’t learned has he. Still stuck on his stupid Health Care plan. We need to make sure he is dead in the water before he even gets his boat in gear. We can’t have him ruining things again.
