yeah Hollywood hates the US that is for sure
why not have Sara Palin play the Baroness (she is hot enough to boot)
we could have Romney as Zartan, Bill Frist as Dr Mindbender, Huckabee as Major Blood and Chuck NOrris as Stormshadow.

"Liked it. But I always wonder how you can have the best of the best when they are only 25."

Alexander the Great conquered most of thde known world before his death at age 32. George Armstrong Custer was a Brigadier General at 23, and in more recent times, James Gavin was only his 30's when he commanded the 82nd Airborne Division during WWII.

These are second rate actors...need the things around them to make the movie

WHEN CHUCK NORRIS MAKES A MOVIE, THE MOVIES IS MADE AROUND CHUCK NORRIS!

I understand “Joe” doesn’t fight for America but for some World Government fantasy. No thanks, I’ll pass.

Because all the ones over 40 need their kids to program their phones and iPods.

I mostly agree with you. I much prefer the old classic American films to most of today's Hollywood product. CGI is an interesting creation and I don't object to them using it to help a storyline, but when it becomes the storyline I lose interest.

CGI was used heavily in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but they had a real storyline there with good performances by real actors and actresses. The CGI aided the story rather than overwhelming it. I was also pleasantly surprised that they didn't ideologically corrupt the story. It remained a tale of different peoples, each with their own local turf, fighting against an evil attempt at world government. When Frodo felt he couldn't go on, Sam gave him a Ronald Reagan type speech. The bad guys were even involved in genetic engineering. It was all done so well that it went over the heads of the Hollywood lefties and became not only a hit, but an acclaimed series.

But for the most part CGI is overused. Regarding the amazing live action castle-storming sequence in Kurosawa's Ran, it's been noted that such a scene might never be filmed again. It required the construction of a huge castle fortification, and the costuming of thousands of soldiers, hundreds of horses, etc. It was all done with real people and real horses and real buildings. Today, they'd just CGI the whole thing.

I’d rather watch Second Hand Lions, Taking Chance, Disney’s The Kid with Bruce Willis, Broken Trail, etc.

"well GI JOE is no longer the “Greatest American Hero” it is some international UN sponsored anti-terrorist organization in this movie."

You are right, GI Joe is now the UN Shmo, for that reason I refuse to waste money on it.

Norris has got to be one of the worst actors ever. Nice guy, but acting is not his forte.

I still like the original GI Joe movie, with Burgess Meredith. (For some of you, he was the Penguin in the TV Batman series.)

"Agreed but its not the current crop of youth. ;->"

LOL....that's what makes these guy elite :-)

I also forgot to include William Darby, who by the time of his death at 34, had founded the US Army Rangers, was the only US Officer in WWII to win the French Croix de Guerre with Silver Star; Soviet Order of Kutuzov (3rd degree) and the British Distinguished Service Order, and been promoted to Brigadier General. Hooah.
