New Hate Crimes Bill Unconstitutional and Threat to Religious Freedom?

Wednesday night, while President Barack Obama held his televised press conference marking his first 100 days in office, the federal hate crimes bill passed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 249 to 175.

But not everyone believes this piece of legislation is a great idea. They are cautioning many supporters that such a law is a two-edged sword and may have unintended consequences that includes misuse by overzealous and politically motivated prosecutors.

During a discussion of HR 1913, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009, opponents of the proposed law offered compelling arguments for scrapping the bill.

Fiscal conservatives who write for the Wall Street Journal and who are embarrassed by social conservatives (read Christians) who fight to maintain their faith and the meaning of marriage, look where your fastidiousness has brought the Republic: To the brink of The Brave New World.

Look where your failure to support fellow conservatives who happened also to be social conservatives (they are also fiscal conservatives), has led us: To a republic that puts in the hands of federal prosecutors the power to enforce mind control.

I have no schadenfreude because now I can ask you: do you see where your supercilious refusal to march shoulder to shoulder with social conservatives has brought the country, to $10 trillion in debt and to the destruction of your precious capitalist system?

There is no stopping Obama without the Intact conservative movement. There is no such thing as a viable political party which sits on a one legged stool. Fiscal conservatism alone will not stop our descent into a long dark night. Effective Resistance to Obama requires conservatism with three legs: fiscal conservatism, yes, as well as social conservatism and robust national defense too, but with limited international exposure.

To fiscal conservatives who were embarrassed to be associated with social conservatives, especially Christian evangelicals, look what you have wrought. The country is descending into a socialism which is bent on destroying your individual liberty as a capitalist. What you did not count on, where you miscalculated, is that these people will not stop with your economic liberty; they are after total mind control. You cannot throw social conservatives to the crocodile and live happily ever after as a fiscal conservative.

NOTHING the socialists in power now want to do is "Un-Constitutional", as they OWN the USSC, and will be packing it soon with two or three more Justices that will destroy any hope of return to what this country was (Free and Constitutionally-protected) for at least 30 more years.

The only way to end the socialist takeover will be by civil war/revolution, and that's probably where we're headed.

Well, if we can’t take back the Republican party, how are we going to take back the country through revolution.

To: nathanbedford; All

With this, the man made disaster that is our present economy, the decrease in our security, diversity in media censorship, forced sevitude, etc etc etc, I am doing what I can to “drop out” of this administration’s “country”.

I am always open to suggestions for ways to do it more, as well as any and all ways to minimize taxes going in to the gluttonous govt coffers.

"Well, if we can’t take back the Republican party, how are we going to take back the country through revolution."

First; I'm not sure that the Republican Party is not going to be taken back to its roots, but the numbers of government-dependent are now out-numbering those who actually WORK FOR A LIVING.

That said, I believe that when the youth of today begin toiling for the gubmint to pay for all the handouts, they're going to wake up (much like most kids do, once they get working and see the net income AFTER all the taxes!)
