If Mitt Romney is in, I'm out!
Declaration of Independence | April 30, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/30/2009 11:50:51 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Yeah, I know. Said some similar things about Bush in 2000. But at least he was pro-life, pro-family, etc, and thank God we supported him over the idiot All Green Gore.

Said similar things about McCain in 2008. But when asked the question "when does human life begin?," and he unabashedly stated, "At conception, of course," I had to take notice. Then when he announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, I decided to support her. I voted for Sarah (and the white haired old geezer that came along with the package).

But Romney is a NO go. And I don't care who this socialist, abortionist, homosexualist, constitution trampling bastard picks for running mate. If Romney's in I'm out!

G.O.P., R.I.P!

Now give BC a break we all have to earn a living and Team Romney probably pays well...

Now you know as well as anyone where that blind loyalty and equally powerful blindness to fact comes from...

The Whigs self-destructed over social conservatism (slavery) and that is very similar to what the GOP is doing now.

If you pay close attention to what Rush says here, he lumps Myth and Rooty together.:

Really Stare decisis means also a law set in place before another came into office.

Yes, there was a court order...but the devil's in the details:

If you check this Jan 08 Freerepublic thread -- RomneyHealthPlanLinkedtoAbortionCriticsClaim -- then you'll see this excerpt from the article posted:

Massachusetts pro-life leader Marie Sturgis defends the plan, saying that the Bay State was already under court order from the state's top court to pay for abortions for low-income women in cases of rape and incest...Jerry Zandstra, who heads the Pro-Life Federation of Michigan, said the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court didn't actually rule that taxpayers had to pay for abortions on demand - it only issued a decision in a case where abortion was "medically necessary. "Even if it were true that his hands were tied - and it's not - a true pro-life governor would have fought that anyway," he said. "The state Supreme Court is not the end of the road. He certainly could have fought that through to the U.S. Supreme Court."

So did you catch that?
Whereas the court order applied only to low-income women in MA, RomneyCare opened up taxpayer-funded abortion in MA to also "moderate"-income women (with "moderate" being very loosely defined).
Secondly whereas the court order addressed abortions due to rape & incest, RomneyCare didn't limit coverage of abortion in MA to rape & incest, which BTW, are significantly less than 1% of all abortions, anyway.

So, tell us, Resty: Why is a very wealthy politician who expanded butchering-on-demand on the backs of MA taxpayers worth defending more than those innocents being dismembered in the womb?

But I know deep down that most Americans feel uncomfortable with a woman Pres.

Sure, but they'll get over it pretty fast, when the democrats install their choice of the first female vp and/or president.

Sarah's not good enough for them though.
Maybe she'd be okay with them if she was a fat ugly masculine lesbian.
Then they'd say she was brilliant too.

I don't want mitt for president.

Yes, ansell, I also remember that on a thread a few weeks ago, when somebody (I forget who, probably FMdj or Dio) posted the pics of the pink flyer and a promo article about Romney wooing the gay community, Barnie Cent fired back a post implying (though not coming right out and saying) that they were forgeries.

I immediately responded with a post of my own to Barnie asking for proof that they were forgeries .... *crickets* ....

“Try going back a bit, to the time there were real conservatives left in the race and Mitt was scoring 13 to 15 percent against Fred and Duncan.”

And why were Fred and Hunter gone when the real battle started in February of ‘08?

If a candidate can’t win, his positions don’t matter all that much as far as I’m concerned.

Mitt has had his sights on the White House for several years...even went to Salt Lake to get permission to run.

The Boston Globe Published: Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006 7:14 p.m. MDT

"Governor Mitt Romney's political team has quietly consulted with leaders of the Mormon Church to map out plans for a nationwide network of Mormon supporters to help Romney capture the presidency in 2008, according to interviews and written materials reflecting plans for the initiative.

Over the past two months, Romney's political operatives and church leaders have discussed building a grass-roots political organization using alumni chapters of Brigham Young University's business school around the country. More recently, representatives of BYU, which is run by the church, and Romney's political action committee have begun soliciting help from prominent Mormons, including a well-known author suggested by the governor, to build the program, which Romney advisers dubbed Mutual Values and Priorities, or MVP.

The president and prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gordon B. Hinckley, has been made aware of the effort and expressed no opposition, the documents show, and at least one other top church official has played a more active role.

Church officials and Romney advisers downplayed the discussions. Church officials say they have a position of strict neutrality on political matters and are not supporting Romney's candidacy.

But documents indicate that Jeffrey R. Holland, one of 12 apostles who help lead the church worldwide, has handled the initiative for the Mormons and that he hosted a Sept. 19 meeting about it in his church office in Salt Lake City with Josh Romney, one of the governor's sons; Don Stirling, a paid consultant for the Commonwealth PAC, Romney's political action committee; and Kem Gardner, a prominent Salt Lake City developer who is one of Romney's biggest donors. Globe reporters observed Romney's representatives enter and leave chuch headquarters for the meeting. Prior to the Sept. 19 meeting, Gardner had already met with Holland at least once to discuss the initiative, documents show.

Holland, a former BYU president, suggested using the alumni organization of the university's business school, the BYU Management Society, to build a network for Romney, according to the documents. Such a plan would give Romney an established infrastructure — the alumni group has 5,500 members in about 40 US chapters — for raising money and generating support.

Eight days later, Stirling, Spencer Zwick, a top political aide to Romney, and the governor's brother, Scott Romney, held a dinner at a private Salt Lake City club for other prominent Mormons, where they discussed the effort further. Among those invited were Steve Albrecht, associate dean of the BYU business school, the Marriott School of Management. On Oct. 9, Albrecht and Ned Hill, the business school dean, sent an e-mail to 50 Management Society members and 100 members of the school's National Advisory Council asking them to join them in supporting Romney's potential bid for the presidency. Hill and Albrecht signed the message with their official BYU titles, sent the e-mail from a BYU e-mail address, and began the message "Dear Marriott School Friend."

To call his health care socialized health care when it was in the private sector.

In January, the Dakota Voice published an excerpt from the Washington DC Examiner on how MA offered a HealthCare model disaster! See massachusetts-health-care-a-model-for-disaster

Here's an excerpt: The Washington DC Examiner editorial on Jan. 11 paints a far less than rosy picture of the alleged socialist utopia in Mass. In fact, they call it “an embarrassing flop.”

Among the problems…
State insurers jacking up rates to twice the national average. The piece says 43 mandatory benefits, which many people didn’t want or need, have driven up costs 56%. Does everyone need invitro fertilization? Do most? Do more than a handful?
Small businesses with more than 10 employees were forced to provide benefits to their employees or be slammed with a tax
Costs of the program came in 85% higher than projected
Because payments to health care providers were slashed in an effort to slow down the hemorrhaging budget, providers quit taking on new patients, resulting in waits of more than a year for a simple exam.

And you have the gall to call it "private sector" healthcare? Do you want RomneyCare nation-wide?

Hey, taxpayers do you want to pay for even more abortions that we'll answer to God for? Hey, taxpayers, do you want Planned Parenthood people chartered to oversee a nationwide version of RomneyCare?

” Moving back to his old home of Michigan, nowhere near as liberal as Massachusetts, running for that's state governorship, and governing as a low tax, pro-family, limited government conservative would do wonders for his reputation.”

That anti-gun bastard has zero chance of being elected governor of Mi!

Michigan is a gun state in the same class as Texas.
