Within just a few days this month, the push for gay marriage found a wave of fresh momentum. A unanimous state Supreme Court decision legalized the practice in Iowa. The state legislature overrode a gubernatorial veto and instituted the practice in Vermont. And Democratic Gov. David A. Paterson announced plans to push legislation that would open the door to the practice in New York.
Beyond the political and legal arguments on the issue, however, are demographic shifts indicating that the controversy over same-sex unions may eventually fade altogether. Younger Americans are far more supportive of civil unions and gay marriage than older generations; in December, pollsters for Newsweek found that 51 percent of people between ages 18 and 34 support gay marriage, compared with 39 percent of all respondents.
Leaders of evangelical Christian organizations — the most vocal opponents of gay marriage as the issue polarized the electorate for much of this decade — now face a similar divide in their own ranks. In a survey last fall by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, Inc., 58 percent of white evangelicals ages 18 to 29 said they support either civil unions or gay marriage; support dropped to 46 percent among white evangelicals who were older than that. (Asked about gay marriage exclusively, the support figures were 26 percent for the younger group and 9 percent for the older group.)
"The data do show a growing divide between younger and older evangelicals. There clearly is a generational difference,” said Amy E. Black, a political scientist at Wheaton College, an evangelical liberal arts school in Illinois. She characterizes the thinking among many younger evangelicals as, "What big deal is civil unions, really? What I care about is the environment, or what I care about is human rights."...

Apparently, the world is being darkened right now as many of those who claim the Name of Christ actually embrace the death and sin of the world. You are likely going to witness the companion increase of hatred against you (and us older believers) for continuing to call this stuff sin. Good for you for refusing the “popular” position.
If the Scriptures that claim God is managing all of this are true (and we believe they are), then we have little to fear, much to watch. We ought to be teaching the truth of His election and rescue of those whom He “...chose before the foundation of the world.” Eph. 1. to as many as will listen. The rest of the folks will not, cannot, hear you.
This is a magnificent drama unfolding before our very eyes as God displays the glory of His control and power. They do not know Who they are trifling with. The “religious” teens, like Miley Cyrus, speak without knowledge, attempting to lead others into the darkness which they themselves do not recognize, making uniformed and incorrect statements about homosexuality and sin. Watch as the world grows cold and more oppressive toward believers who refuse to join in. We may get the opportunity to march back into a coliseum.
They want to be the "cool", pop-acceptable Christians.
If God was tolerant of sin then there never would have been a need for Christ. This, my, generation doesn't understand that and one day will have to answer for their actions. Knowing that one day I will be in front of God and asked to answer for my decisions is not something that I take lightly.

Many pastors these days are spineless and have not preached the truth and now this is what we have.
How do you resolve these places where the Bible contradicts itself?
There’s nothing to resolve for I find no contradictions in the Bible.
Clearly the Christian faith is not being taught to the youth, and that is a problem in all Christian churches and denominations.
I became a Christian when I was 18 and 29 years later I still understand what it means, what sin is and its devastating consequences. They are confusing tolerance with mercy. Today’s younger generation is going to get the biggest eye openers of their lives over the next couple of years. They are very lax in the areas of personal responsibility and accountability. I believe God will allow them to suffer greatly under the devices of their own selves and lead them to repentance.
Obama got 54% of the Catholic vote and almost nothing of the Evangelical vote and very little of the Protestant vote at all (putting all protestants together he still only got 45% of their vote).
Even Hispanic protestants gave Obama less than Catholics (about 52%), and then we get to black Protestants voting for Obama by about 96%, something is clearly wrong with the thinking of black Christians.
But to miss the FACT that the Sodomites wanted the angels sexually and Lott offered his daughters instead, misses the whole point of the destruction of the whole valley.
It is easy to use a computer Bible to do a search on homosexual behavior verses. If done, there can be NO DOUBT what God thinks of it.

They are being hypocritical and have put race before faith. They have also been lead by many bad pastors. I know quite a few who did not drink the Obama Kool-Aid and had him nailed dead to center early on. They are also letting their black brothers have it like you would not believe. They take no prisoners and stand for the Gospel courageously.
Bill Ayers dabbled in “swinging” with the different male and female members of the Weather Underground. As he said in his book, a passage of which appeared in his 9-11-2001 NY Times interview, his goal was to “smash monogamy”.
When asked how to men getting “married” harms your marriage, it is about subverting the culture.
There were black ministers who took Obama to task over abortion and the norming of homosexuality. They got flack from some in the black community over it (even some “religious” figures) but ultimately we all answer to a higher power.
