The younger generation of Christians think that it is mature to say that they are Christian and sympathetic to say that they are tolerant. It is all about image. I know that God is in control, I'm not perfect AT ALL. But when I make mistakes I take responsibility for them and ask for forgiveness.

If God was tolerant of sin then there never would have been a need for Christ. This, my, generation doesn't understand that and one day will have to answer for their actions. Knowing that one day I will be in front of God and asked to answer for my decisions is not something that I take lightly.

I became a Christian when I was 18 and 29 years later I still understand what it means, what sin is and its devastating consequences. They are confusing tolerance with mercy. Today’s younger generation is going to get the biggest eye openers of their lives over the next couple of years. They are very lax in the areas of personal responsibility and accountability. I believe God will allow them to suffer greatly under the devices of their own selves and lead them to repentance.

The main purpose of "Corinthians" was to show the tolerant church was wrong and the sinner should be confronted and thrown out if he didn't repent.

This has been a theme of many of my posts about the Catholic Church for months. If Kennedy, Pelosi, Kerry, and Biden are accepted publicly in the mainline church, a breakdown in discipline is apt to follow. Disagreement with Church dogma is acceptable because they know there is no price to pay if you are famous and pay your tithe. Now we have women priests being ordained, abortion acceptance, and homosexuality acceptance. If the church can be bought by the highest bidder, then is it truly the Church Christ built?

This isn't just a Catholic problem either. The sinners just seem to have more famous names and power. I'm sure, if given a few minutes, we could come up with 50 Prot names that say and do the same things in public. I keep believing that if the Pope, or a Bishop, or some church official publicly called for Kennedy to repent in public for his abortion votes, that right there would make many cafeteria Catholics start to pay attention. How does Barney Frank get elected in Mass? How about Kennedy or Kerry? There is a LARGE contingent of Catholic voters in Massachusetts. They could make or break any politician in Boston. The problem is in the churches, not the fact that there are non believers attending church. If you had a known murderer in your pews, would you welcome him or tell him he must repent for Christ to accept him? With Teddy, we have an abortionist and the little matter of Mary Jo Kopechne. For Pelosi to travel to Rome and proclaim the matter of abortion isn't settled should have been a point at which SHE was challenged and disciplined. There should be NO DOUBT that her views are OUTSIDE church teaching and should have been trumpeted from the pulpit for many Sundays.

One must conform to the dogma of the church or go find a church that barks at the moon. Don't call yourself with the name of Christ if you hate Him. No one forces these people in the pews. They should be forced out, however, if they can't accept what God calls sin, as sin.
