And, paraniod though it might be, one of my cow-orkers was called out early today because her daughter was running a fever at daycare, and we told her to take the rest of the week off. We were just given laptops so we can telecommute this week, so we told her to go home and test the concept.
Wh ydo Cows need to be ork’d? And why do you ping yerself?

FORT WORTH — Fort Worth will close all of its 144 schools through at least May 8 because of swine flu concerns.
Superintendent Melody Johnson said only necessary staff at central administration would work.
I think there are some pretty detailed pandemic guidelines/dictates. Maybe they're following guidelines that relates to them to keep the lawyers away?
After the vote in congress today, they might as well close all the schools. No one needs an education anymore. The government is going to give you everything you need.
If you earn more, they’re going to confiscate it.
Not quite. I'm not saying that the H1N1-R2D2 hoax is the end of the world - it's the litigation threat that schools are afraid of. In this insanely litigious society in which we live, where someone just has to be to blame for every little misfortune that befalls anyone, the schools just don't have the legal resources to fight off the high-dollar vultures (tort attorneys) that are sure to materialize out of the woodwork in droves.
CDC has a rather extensive plan that I posted to FR yesterday for the national response. I am sure all states have similar plans that will continue to be implemented. One thing to keep an eye on is if the WHO phase goes to 6. That seems to be a pretty big trigger in all these plans for more dramatic responses.
Other things have happened already that the public probably doesn't even know about. For example, doctors cannot give Tamiflu to children under 1. CDC implemented an Emergency Response that now allows doctors to administer to that age group. Further, the doctors, drug makers, etc, are immune from lawsuits associated with any negative reactions.
They will have to make it up according to state law.
