“We’ll never be able to repeal this crap until it all goes down its own toilet...”

That could occur quickly.
The federal government gave itself the authority to prosecute at the state level. Imagine if it uses groups such as Acorn and its planned Civilian National Security Force as part of its investigative arm.

Anyone else seen this movie?

We are truly living in strange times when a fringe sexual group is allowed to criminalize those who stand for common decency. Mark my words, the next thing these freaks will do is try to get control of the schools so they can recruit our kids.

"What “speech” will be outlawed next?"

In fact this bill is much worse than the "hate crime" rules that Canada enforces through it's human rights commissions. It's not quite entrenched into " criminal law" in Canada; each case is reviewed by the human rights commission, whose rulings only result in fines, cease and desist orders, and personal damage awards to the complainant, but not a criminal record against the accused.

This bill puts hate speech into law, which results in a felony conviction, prison and/or fines, and a criminal record.

So much for free speech in America. So much for the constitution.

Their control over public school education is already entrenched.

THE BRIEFING ROOM

THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Press Secretary __________________________________________________________________ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 28, 2009

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT ON H.R. 1913, THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT HATE CRIMES PREVENTION ACT OF 2009

This week, the House of Representatives is expected to consider H.R. 1913, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009. I urge members on both sides of the aisle to act on this important civil rights issue by passing this legislation to protect all of our citizens from violent acts of intolerance – legislation that will enhance civil rights protections, while also protecting our freedom of speech and association. I also urge the Senate to work with my Administration to finalize this bill and to take swift action.

It’s does not work that way. If a homosexual assaults and touches you and you retaliate and he gets hurt, guess what, you go to prison.

It’s a$$ gallore America. They even will prosecute children, which is already happening, by the way.

I read the replies, but I think it depends on how bold - and wise - the churches are prepared to be. My layman's reading of the ‘freedom of religion’ amendment and the so-called separation of church and state doctrine suggests that the state can no more dictate what the churches can and cannot teach, any more that the churches can dictate policy to the state. Maybe I'm dreaming ...

Don’ja just hate a congress that panders to the whining of the disgusting deviants that fear the societal ostracism they so richly deserve?

Help me out. Where is the specific language the libs will use in this law to get me for preaching that homosexuality is a sin? I read through but missed it, apparently.

Time to invest in this company:

...being that our 1st Amendment is now overturned and many car bumpers sport slogans which are felonies to display.

And there’s the mistake by Minnick I was looking for. I do wonder if Sali will make another run at it or if it’s time for some fresh blood to run against Minnick.

“Their control over public school education is already entrenched.”

And they are about to cash in on that accomplishment.

Somewhat similar to the subprime mortgage debacle, O and his handlers plan to send everyone to college, even those who would not ordinarily be admitted.

In addition to making a college education more difficult for serious students, the goal is grow the ranks of socialists by providing a socialist education to marginal (dumb) students – paid for by the U.S. taxpayer!!

He and his handlers will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Indeed, forget TARP or other Stimulocrap bills. This thing is going to be so costly to any workplace and what not, you’re going to have office queens all over the place whining about hate when their jobs are threatened. Talk about zero zip nada services nor production.

They freaging destroyed the country with this. It’s the perfect Union and government take over excuse, as well as islamofascist inlet.

"Can perez hilton be proscuted for hate speech about Miss California?? She’s a gay(s) victim No...SHE can be though, because her answer made Hilton feel "uncomfortable"

Actually, anyone who uses speech in a hurtful, derogatory way against anyone is now at risk of being charged with a felony.

This means Blacks calling whites "whitey", "cracker", or (gasp!) Poop chute packing cracker" can be charged with a hate crime, uttering hatefull speech.

It'll be a cold day in hell before we see anyone actually charged with a hate crime in that or any similar scenario however.

Any other color however, watch out.

The crowd that constantly screams about equal protection does exactly the opposite at every opportunity. With affirmative action, they discriminate against whites or men or asians or anyone else they consider as having an unfair advantage. With hate crimes, they create classes of citizens who receive special protections, and, of course, make the lesser protected citizens bigger targets.

Meanwhile, the two high profile cases which the activists continually cite when it comes to hate crimes—the dragging murder of James Byrd and the beating murder of Matthew Shepard—are actually prime examples of how the legal system works and works well without hate crimes. Of the three cretins who murdered James Byrd, two received death sentences and the third life in prison. Of the two cretins who murdered Matthew Shepard, one pleaded guilty and agreed to testify in return for two consecutive life sentences, and the other also received two consecutive life sentences but only after Matthew Shepard's parents intervened and prevented him from most likely receiving a death sentence.

Not that logic ever means anything when it comes to fanatics.

(C) is motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim, or is a violation of the State, local, or tribal hate crime laws.
