Good quick response by some of the tea party organizers. I'd have made the press release punchier with a rebuke of Obama's mocking the million-plus Americans who participated in the April 15 tea parties, but then again I'm a Freeper :-)

Who are they? Are they legitimately able to claim the mantle of leadership of the national tea party movement?

I’m pretty suspicious and I don’t remember any election among tea party groups to elect leadership of a national coalition.

I am happy he is open to a discussion.

That's some serious naivete. Obama isn't open to anything except his own America destroying agenda. It is a mistake to believe that the invitation is anything but nefarious.

CRAP! Someone has assumed the national face of tea parties???

A pox on them and their houses! That is not what the parties are about.

There were, and are, several other issues that motivated people to attend a Tea Party. The 2nd amendment and right to life groups were well represented and active. I see a tendency for some folks to ignore this fact, and it is not a good idea!

Are we all in this together, or are we going to split into smaller, less effective groups?

BO wants to use this group to prep the public for nat'l health care.

They'd best keep the message simple - its about taxing & spending - & don't allow BO's premise for the discussion.

The Tea Parties are protesting against fiscal irresponsibility.......

That wasn't all that "we" protested against.....

And if that is what these folks thought/think....I'm suspect of them representing me...

But wait...Obama was not even aware that there were tea parties, right?

Nothing more than useful idiots to be put on display by Obama. We need substantive action, not photo-ops and symbolic gestures. This will not come from this administration that is determined to completely alter the American way of life for decades.

If you wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty... or Obama flu.

Obama won't meet with anybody about this.

And the media will not report their challenge or his refusal.

Nothing will change until something really drastic grabs the attention of the American people.

Meet with the president who claimed to know nuthin’ about “teabaggers” and then mocked them on the occasion of his 100th day of Presidential service?

I guarantee they won't change Obama’s mind.

Hold a debate on the issues instead. Let him try to convince the public. Right now the press isn't doing enough to ask questions.

The “team” can talk to Obama and reiterate the purpose of the tea parties. It should avoid being compromised by his charms or lies.

It’s the very reason why Glenn Beck refused to be the head of this movement, because it would be so easy to destroy the whole thing by making a few, easy to isolate, person the image for the whole thing.
