What a disgusting waste of money. All for Der Fuhrer’s amusement. The assertion that he was very very angry about the fly over was so absurd. He ordered it. What a thoughtless jerk.

BTW, heard this on Mark Belling’s show this afternoon and will give the credit to the caller who said it...

“The only thing we’ve had that is close to a terrorist attack since Obama took office, was caused by Obama himself.”

Good point.
How many of those running for their lives yesterday, voted for Zero, had to be about 75 percent of them. Wonder if they are a bit ticked at Zero? Or they believe the lie that he had nothing to do with it and still adore him.

Yes, imagine all the maladies, stress syndromes, strained backs, and broken legs from panicked crowds leaving NYC buildings. I’m sure a Republican President would be sued multiple times - and impeached, after that - for damages and anguish.

...Where’s the media?

This was a big deal - really awful for all New Yorkers who had to witness what they thought was another hoovering disaster, in the sky.

Someone described the 747 as a "joy ride" and that reminded me of this 1994 story..

"White House Aide Resigns After Golf Trip by Helicopter The Washington Post

"A senior White House official was forced to resign Thursday after he and a colleague took the presidential helicopter, Marine One, from Washington to a private country club near Camp David, Md., for an afternoon golf game Tuesday.

"David Watkins, director of the White House Office of Administration and one of the Arkansas friends President Clinton brought with him to Washington, submitted his resignation after his outing with Alphonso Maldon Jr., director of the White House Military Office, became public. . . . "

Maybe some left wing nut out of the Chicago cabal figured he'd do some sight-seeing.

When it comes to the slavishly stupid idiots on the Left, I’ll go with Door #2, Monty:

Getting elected president - $800 million
Snapping a sweet picture of AF1 with Statue of Liberty in back round - $328,835
Scaring the sh!t out of millions of your NY lib friends, while they and the lap dog media swallow your BS that you knew nothing about it - priceless

I’ll waive the BS flag on this. It probably includes the cost of flying - but the aircrews need to fly regardless. This was just a training mission for them. The actual cost in excess of training flights is probably nil.

WHO WAS ON THE PLANE!

My guess: a jumbo jet party for Obama's America-despising friends who celebrated the 9/11 terrorist attacks -- his wife Queen Kong, J. Wright, M. Pfleger, B. Ayers and B. Dohrn, and a sprinkling of Nation of Islam loons, Black Panthers, and other degenerates. They circled the city at low altitude for a half hour toasting their election victory with choruses of "WE WON!!!", laughing about scaring the heck out of the residents of the same city who were terrorized in Sept. of '01, and still shaking their heads in utter disbelief that the majority of the American electorate bought what B-HO was selling.

Obama probably was notified of the rage and anger and laughed "heh heh" "Mission Accomplished!". Slippers Emanuel probably laughed along with him.

... and 2) take pictures as the cover for the real “mission” in the event they are requested or demanded.

Nah. They'd just photo shop 'em and say they got them from the flyby.

Whatever this flyby over NYC was about, it wasn't a photo op.

OK why didn’t this bonehead do his fly picture op on a Sunday when New York might not be as full of business people? Someone just wasn’t thinking.

I want to see authenticated proof that NYC port and law enforcment agencies really were notified in advance, told not to reveal it to anyone, and to refer public inquiries to the FAA during the actual event.

Why didn’t this bonehead do his fly picture op on a Sunday when New York might not be as full of business people?

Maybe because it wasn't really a photo op?

So far, because the official WH story is that NY authorities were notified in advance but told to keep it secret EVEN WHEN it was happening (the panic and uproar wouldn't have happened if the flyby had been publicly announced beforehand to Obama-adoring New Yorkers, even if it was only 15 or 20 minutes before, as a wonderful thing to see our own FRIENDLY plane and the president's plane at that -- I think most NYers would have celebrated and cheered the flyby, then) and to refer inquiries coming in during the flyby to the FAA, I conclude that it was one of two things:

a) The real mission (this was no photo op) was so secret that the cover story of "photo op" couldn't be revealed until afterward without blowing whatever the real mission was ...

OR ...

b) It was a rogue event done by who knows who for who knows what reason, surprising everybody including Obama, and in the hustle to cover ass, the "photo op" story was quickly ginned up as the easiest to foist on the public, and NYC authorities were either forced or convinced to lie and say they were notified ahead of time and the reason they told upset callers to call the FAA (which I figure is what they'd do if they had no idea what it was) was because the WH told them to do so.

I ain't buyin' the "photo op" story because it defies common sense.

Everything about Obama defies common sense. But having lived in New York City much of my life, I'd seriously doubt that anybody could get NYPD or any other agency to cover for them, so I'd suspect that NYPD really did receive a notice that some kind of stunt was going to happen and they should simply keep their mouths shut. They probably assumed that the mayor already knew. I wonder if it came through some other agency: DHS, for example, which could certainly make NYPD clam up.

Too true! As I've only been to NY once and know nothing about NYPD (except once having gotten to party for a few days with some NYPD vice officers, and I really liked both of them for the stand-up level-headed philosophy they held regarding law and order), I have to bow to your superior knowledge.

But if the DHS could "certainly make NYPD clam up" before hand, why coudln't it do the same afterward? News reports say that only a handful of New York "authorities" were notified, not even the Mayor ...

The whole thing stinks. Maybe they were notified -- it's why proof would be nice. If they were, the true mission behind the phony "fly by" was so secret and vulnerable that it couldn't even risk avoiding the panic of millions of New Yorkers. It stinks like low tide.
