"Some in the Republican Party are happy about this. I am not," he said in a statement. "Let's be honest-Senator Specter didn't leave the GOP based on principles of any kind. He left to further his personal political interests because he knew that he was going to lose a Republican primary due to his left-wing voting record. "Republicans look forward to beating Sen. Specter in 2010, assuming the Democrats don't do it first."

Oh he’s a loser alright.
When is McLame switching?
I bet this had very little to nothing to do with Steele. I don’t know why he’s gloating.
Could Juan win as a ‘Rat?
Specter and Leahy can now hold hands in public.
Whenever he goes he can take his lard-assed daughter with him.
In Arizona ? Absolutely. The AZ rodents haven't run a serious candidate against him in years, and for good reason.
I am THRILLED that RINO Spector is no longer a Republican, he hasn’t been a Republican for years. Good riddance Spector
If the GOP knew he was going to loose the primary, why were they giving him financial support?
The average IQ of both the Republican and Democrat parties just increased significantly.
Methinks Specter is underestimating the ill will he will be feeling from his GOP colleagues. This is going to be very unpleasant for him.

Good one, Michael Steele!!!
i don’t what peoples problems with McCain
yeah he does weird stuff every now and then — he’s kinda like crazy uncle
other than unleashing his daughter, I really don’t see what McCain has done in the past few months that would make me despise him the way I’ve despised Specter. He’s not the trouble-maker he used to be and doesn’t carry as much influence as being the media’s GOP lapdog. I think partly the campaign changed him a bit once he realized who had been in bed with for all these years.
i’d say McCain should stay and should retire soon
Steele said it well.
okay i phrased that badly,
I DO see what people’s problems with McCain are
but as of late, he’s low on the priority list
