Breaking news on FNC
Switch? He is gonna be a republican?
Good riddance.
Rather know who’s who than expect one thing and get another
See ya in 2010.
Yeah, gee I am shocked/ s
What? You mean Barflen Specter is going to become an actual Republican?
To quote my former mother in law, as I strode down the aisle with her son:
“Congratulations. He’s YOUR problem now!”
Distraction to get the FLYBY story out of the news cycle
I just got off the phone with the GOP and spoke to both the Chairman’s office and the financial division.
My question was about the official GOP response to Arlen switching parties.
I was read Michael Steeles official and his position was “many people were happy with Spector leaving the party but he was not”. Steele goes on to say that “Spector left he party because he knew the would loose in the next election over his liberal voting record, however this switch does give the Dems additional powers that the country can not afford”. At least Steele recognizes that RINO’s are the reason why the GOP is losing elections at breakneck speed.
I was then passed over to the financial offices and asked if they would be going after Spector for monies he received from the National, State and individual donors.
I was informed that Spector says he will return monies to anyone who contributed to his election campaign if they asked - that is part of his statement and available on his website.
Going with the “people who ask for monies back” theme, I informed the financial offices that I wanted, as a registered republican, that they go after Spector for the monies and that this be done openly with press releases from Michael Steele. I also said flat out, I didn’t believe a word that came out of Spector’s mouth and that the GOP has just been handed the perfect opportunity to show the base that they are indeed serious about clearing RINO’s out of the party and conforming more to the demands of the parties base.
I was then placed on a conference call with the Chairman’s office and financial where I affirmed my previous statement. I went on to tell both offices the following...
“I am a registered Republican who has gave monies as well as hundreds of hours to the GOP during elections but in recent years I have stopped; as most of the conservative base of the party has, sending in funds and giving of my time. I went on to tell them that the Republican base had abandoned the party over people like Arlen Spector, Snowe and Collins (I also got a dig in about McCain and his daughter) and that IF the GOP took a firm stance against Spector, it may help to bring the base back to the party.”
Both people I spoke too acknowledged that conservatives had abandoned the party and that donations were down, significantly. While I did not receive a firm commitment from the GOP that they would publicly go after Spector, I was told since this announcement came out they are receiving phone calls demanding they go after him.
Get on the phone Freepers......If we do nothing, we can not complain when the Democrats turn our country into a communist dictatorship (as we are heading).
It will take 10-15 minutes of your time to let the GOP know if they want the base back, it’s time to go after RINO’s and those who’ve stabbed the GOP and conservatives in the back over and over again.
The number to reach the party is 202-863-2500 choose the “more options 9” to reach the Chairman’s office(4).

"US Senators cannot be recalled."
Yes they can.
I wonder if any of those news channels that can’t seem to tear themselves away from talking about Arlen Spector are going to ask any of us conservative voters what we think? LOL Maybe not; since we are so thrilled.
That’s one down.

The GOP does not have the seat anyway with Specter...at least we’ll have a CHANCE of having a real republican in the senate rather than a socialist back-stabbing liar.

Steeles Official Statement
STATEMENT FROM CHAIRMAN STEELE ON SENATOR ARLEN SPECTER’S DECISION TO SWITCH TO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY
WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:
“Some in the Republican Party are happy about this. I am not.
Let’s be honest-Senator Specter didn’t leave the GOP based on principles of any kind. He left to further his personal political interests because he knew that he was going to lose a Republican primary due to his left-wing voting record.
Republicans look forward to beating Sen. Specter in 2010, assuming the Democrats don’t do it first.”

Loser he was , loser he shall remain. PA and America is better off without this socialist POS who was always the pure definition of the term RINO !
Just my opinion of course.....
Happy Happy Joy Joy!
Good riddance to BAD rubbish!
Don’t let the door hit ya, Snarlen!
Can you tell this makes me happy?! WOO-HOO!
Specter has never been a Republican. Ditto Snowe, Chaffee, the whole lot of them. These interlopers dilute the strength of the party and destroy its brand. The sooner they declare what they really are, the better.
Then there’s this (my satire): Obama One-Ups Specter, Switches To Narcissist Party - http://bit.ly/Pyche
“Specter has never been a Republican. Ditto Snowe, Chaffee, the whole lot of them” BINGO and the exact reason I called the GOP.
The only way the party is going to get back to conservative principles and bring their base back into the ranks is IF they go after RINO’S and stop supporting them.
Specter made it easy for us, he left on his own; that does NOT mean he has no responsibility to return the monies he’s received over the years that he’s pretended to be a Republican and was supported by the party.
I want to see the GOP reaction to Specter jumping ship, I want to see if Steele has the balls to take on Specter.
