A photo shoot involving a 747 used as Air Force One and two fighter jets flying at low altitude led to hundreds of frightened calls from residents and workers in Lower Manhattan this morning, triggering memories of 9-11 as many evacuated their offices...
According to officials, the flight -- authorized by the FAA -- came in as low as 1000 feet to 150 feet above the city as it made a large circle over Manhattan, Staten Island, and New Jersey...
Other officials noted that they were led to believe the flight would be limited to the area near the Statue of Liberty, however the flight pattern was above a much larger portion of New York and at an extremely low altitude.

I am so tired of the government withholding info so as not to panic us. How'd that work out this morning?
Then on the contrary, they look for every opportunity work us into a frenzy over hurricanes, peanut butter, swine flu, global warming, mortgages, etc. And then won't let us know information that could truly help us (like which banks are failing so I don't put my investments there).
And I want to know who the genius is that call always determine within minutes of a catastrophic event that it was NOT an act of terrorism.

And...who the heck pays the costs for this plane to do a Photo Op? Gotta cost a pretty penny...for the taxpayers. So much for "tightening our belts," as Obama declared we should do. Guess PR is worth anything, including loss of worker's time, frightening half of New York, creating confusion there and around the country, etc. Obama and his staffers and/or those who approved this ought to pay some price for this disturbance.
Wonder how many mouths those dollars could have fed if Obama had shared the wealth and distributed the money for fuel and plane personnel instead to those people who he promised would get $$$ from his policies. Seems pictures would be worthless to them!

I was just watching CNBC and they were really upset. They said some of the brokerages evacuated, the stock market dropped, and the windows were rattling in the buidings because the plane was flying so low.
Honestly, I want to know who the hell approved this. Their head should be on a pike. It’s one thing to do a “photo op” it’s quite another to fly a large aircraft at low altitute around New York City with out telling anyone what they are doing. And even then it’s a stupid move.
The fact that these idiots have completely forgotten 9/11 is beyond the pale.
I’m saying it wasn’t a pre-planned photo op with air force one at all.
