The judge in the Sandra Cantu murder case agreed to seal her autopsy report Friday, saying if the results were released, there would be "public outrage."
"We haven't seen anything like this in San Joaquin County," Superior Court Judge Linda L. Loftus said. "A lot of courts have never seen this kind of case."
Both prosecution and defense attorneys were in favor of sealing the report.
"In the interest of a fair trial, for both sides in this case, that is the only option," Loftus said. "There would be overriding prejudice if the record is unsealed."
She said there would be a great amount of "public outrage" if the results were released and it would also be an invasion of privacy into the lives of Sandra's family. She said the rape and murder of a child is viewed by the public as a "heinous crime."
Melissa Huckaby, who faces murder charges in the case enhanced with special circumstances kidnapping, lewd or lascivious acts on a child and rape by a foreign object was ordered to return to court May 22. She didn't enter a plea during a Friday afternoon court appearance.
Prosecutors said they've turned over more than 500 pages of documents and several audio recordings of police interviews with Huckaby.
Sandra's body was found stuffed inside a large suitcase in a farm pond on April 6. The girl was last seen alive near her mobile home park residence on March 27.

Instead we will get speculation and quite possibly info leaked to the press.
Realistically, I dont know that there is any way to quash the outrage over this crime.
Well damn it, we can’t have any “public outrage” over the horrible death and rape of a child. That would be like . . . bad.
I guess we will know what happened once the trial begins. I suppose they don’t want to influence the potential jury, and that’s reasonable.
It sure makes me fearful about what all happened to that child.
The media immediately intervenes to keep the 9-1-1 photos and lesbian crimes out of the repetition loop. If it was some gay guy getting attacked, we’d be swimming in it.
Will the autopsy report make lesbians look bad? People might think they are unstable, unhinged, or just plain ugly?
Thank you for that. Rest in peace, Sandra. I hope her face is what people remember, not what a monster did to her.
I am no fan of lesbianism. But I understand from Marc Klass’ website (dad of Polly Klass) that something like 94% of stranger child abductions are by men, usually for perversion. The 6% that are female, are usually procuring for a man. But 1% of stranger abductions are by a female sexual predator. So very rare. So if this woman turns out to be guilty, I don’t think it would make me hate lesbians in any special way. I oppose their agenda on principle, anyway.
Only a suggestion here...but out of each one hundred episodes where some young girl disappears...I’d be willing to beat that ten percent of these are related to women instead of men. The cops won’t like that idea...meaning a wider search pattern.
Sounds to me as if they’re afraid that someone would get lynched if this information were to become public.
The state will trade making the autopsy public for a guilty plea and no death penalty. Or the defense will trade a demand for trial and thus the autopsy for taking the death penalty off the table.
We'll never know see the autopsy.

I would love to know the percentage of these wretched crimes are likely associated with sexual perversion. I would imagine it to be high.
As the father of two daughters, I’m not sure I can adequately express the sadness I feel that this little girl should end this way.
What an awful tragedy!!!!!!!! I want to know what turns what appears to be a member in good standing of the community and sunday school teacher into a monster? Poor child, my heart hurts for her family..
I admire your dignity. Well done.
I am betting that the results will be leaked within two weeks.
It sounds as if she had to live with her grandparents because she was already in trouble. I don’t think she was really a Sunday school teacher per se. It’s more likely a title given to her just for showing up.
There was probably more going on with her than anyone wanted to admit. I doubt it was her first ‘run in’ with a little girl either.
There is something very wrong with a person who can harm a child, period.
And it must have been horrible what she did to her for them to keep it from the public. I can’t imagine (nor do I want to).
Agreed, obviously there were many problems with that woman...
