My balls are federally funded. They are expanding at an alarming rate with all the stimulus.

Just my theory, it’s the dads that make the difference for the teen girls AND the teen boys. So hang in there dads.

I would have to agree, even though both parents should be involved in the raising of kids, I think the first half of a kids life the mother should and is the main raiser of the kids and that in the second half of a kid teenager the father should be the main raiser of the teenagers. My gut feelings is that most conflicts in marriages start when the kids get to be teenagers and then there is a conflict as to who is going to be main leader and raiser of their kids. Does anyone else out there think this is the case.

I went to Catholic School and was not as chaste as my son was during his high school years. And yes, the CYO dances only encouraged that we date other Catholics, and little else.

If my daughter, when she is a senior in high school and has been dating a solid, upstanding boy for a year, I understand that she may have sex with him.

And no, I do not set different standards for male and female kids.

Doesn’t think much of young girls, does she?

Probably judges them by her own lights.

A woman’s worth lies in her ability — or her refusal — to be sexual. And we’re teaching American girls that, one way or another, their bodies and their sexuality are what make them valuable. The sexual double standard is alive and well, and it’s irrevocably damaging young women.

The 1st sentence contradicts the 2nd. The message, as in the 1st sentence, is that a woman's worth is shown by her ability to NOT just be a sex object, to instead be a person. The 2nd sentence is what happens to a girl who gives up to the sexual pervasiveness of the culture.

Note that there is no discussion here about whether boys are saving their virginity, because everybody KNOWS that a boy having sex is just something boys do, it doesn't DEFINE them. But for this author, having sex is what defines a woman.

Which is exactly the message a male-dominated society wants to send -- girls, your worth is in being willing to let us have sex with you whenever and wherever we want.

However, the data show that the Purity Pledge is only successful 12% of the time.

That's because the girls most likely to remain virgins don't feel the need to take a pledge. It's the ones who are tempted and feel pressured and are looking for some extra advantage to help them. Oh, and also the girls that have already gotten into sex regularly and now are looking for something that might let them "start over".

And don't discount the fact that most people doing pro-sex polls tend to lie about their statistics.

The reason women are targeted for virginity pledges is because the choice to have sex is almost entirely up to the woman. Most boys will have sex if a girl asks, and most boys will ask girls to have sex, so it’s the girls who have to be ready to say “no”, and to be taught NOT to go around begging guys to have sex with them.

More than 1,400 purity balls, where young girls pledge their virginity to their fathers at a promlike event, were held in 2006 (the balls are federally funded).

That is very disturbing.

And disgusting. Fathers, control your daughters whereabouts and associates. Teach them to be brutally honest and forthright and to require the same of their suitors. No purity balls required.

My daughters know that my intentions toward their mother have always been and always will be fiendish and to expect no less from their eventual husbands. As long as everyone is up front and exclusive about everything from the moment the thought crosses the mind, all of my children can be married quickly, to any other devout Christian they fancy. No purity balls required.

Hebrews 13:4
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Marital indulgence: so much better than abstinence!

(Oops, can I say that on a thread of this nature?)

At that point the lesson became, use protection, use protection, use protection even if she says she is on the pill.

Why not: "marry her"?

And that it is solely up to women to enforce chastity and bear the negative consequences for failure to do so. That really is a fair feminist issue. It takes both a willing male and female. And if one gives in she is a Whore, Slut etc. and if the other gives in he is a Player.

Maybe culture has changed since I was a teen but it was expected that boys would chase girls and try to do things with them and that girls would fend of the boys advances. If a boy got lucky he scored and was the envy of all his friends but for the girls it was a different story of shame.

And seeing the lyrics to “Jizz in my Pants” tells me that culture hasn’t really changed to eliminate this disparity. It’s always the girls fault.

"My balls are federally funded. They are expanding at an alarming rate with all the stimulus."

Some balls are held for charity
And some for fancy dress
But when they're held for pleasure
They're the balls that I like best
My balls are always bouncing
To the left and to the right
It's my belief that my big balls
Should be held every night

Because, like his mom and dad, he is going to earn an undergraduate and a graduate degree. If he were to get married now it would significantly decrease his chance of completing his education. And his education is more important than other considerations.

You are so open minded. It is just in one direction. But hey, way to be a cool dad. Because, you know, values change depending what stage of life you are in. Way to be consistent. Let’s see how the son raises the grandchildren.
