If you had any doubt that Miss California, Carrie Prejean, lost the crown, if indeed she ever had a chance to win it, with her answer to Perez Hilton's question about states legalizing gay marriage, then read fellow judge Alicia Jacobs' account of her voting. After hearing the answer, Jacobs, a former Miss Nevada USA, writes on her blog, "if I could have made her 51st runner-up, I would have." In a blog item titled "Pretty is as pretty does," Jacobs offers a behind-the-scenes account of the judges and pageant officials involved. Included is Jacobs' account of her reaction as she heard the answer:
"As she continued to speak, I saw the crown move further & further away from her. When she finished, she looked strangely proud for a moment. Personally, I was STUNNED on several levels. First, how could this young woman NOT know her audience and judges? Let's not forget that the person asking the question is an openly gay man, at least 2 people on the judges panel are openly gay. Another judge has a sister in a gay marriage. Her very own state pageant director, KEITH LEWIS is an openly gay man who has been a very generous benefactor of hers...in many ways. (2 ways in particular....if you get my drift??) Did I mention I was STUNNED?"
I don't actually get Jacobs' drift about the "2 ways," but I am sure someone hipper will explain that to me. As for Carrie Prejean, she will be as remembered as well as former Miss Oklahoma Anita Bryant.
Oh, wait, Anita Bryant is still alive. Well, I admit I had to look that up, and my guess is that most of you would too!

Unfortunately, the left has fixed that by spending the last decade indoctrinating school children under force of law, not simply to understand and tolerate other people, but to actively support sin and to be intolerant of those who suggest there is any such thing as sin.
The only people not indoctrinated are home schoolers and those in some private schools, but the left is making it very hard to homeschool, and hard for common people to afford private school.
We’re not to be proud of, or boast in, any of our own works.
Gal 6:14
But, yes, she certainly has done something that the Father can be proud of.
What we should be asking is when did Donald Trump decide to walk on the wild side.
It's Bob Beckel and no, you are not half asleep.
I'm not surprised that Miss Nevada, the state that has legalized whoring, was stunned.
Hmmmm.... I think there is a difference between Pride the sin and being proud of yourself.
I wonder if Beckel became born again before or after he wrote that extortion check to that pro and her pimp?
Maybe Christians shouldn’t be participating in beauty contests, and shouldn’t be spending money supporting them, if tournament directors actually believe that beauty contest contestants shouldn’t be religious.
On the other hand, I have to believe that those words, if provable, would be grounds for an anti-discrimination lawsuit.
The key here is that Ms Prejean answered a trap question HONESTLY knowing that (by her own account) it would kill her chance to win. In doing that, she is a refreshing EXEMPLAR to ALL OF US that there still are people who value PERSONAL HONOR over material reward!
As Shakespeare put it ...
Who steals my purse steals trash; 'tis something, nothing;
'Twas mine, 'tis his, and has been slave to thousands;
But he that filches from me my good name
Robs me of that which not enriches him,
And makes me poor indeed.
Othello Act 3, scene 3, 155161
This is just one more example of what happens to normal people when the vicious leftists set their sights on them.
Seriously, the only “justification” that libs ever give for reconciling liberalism with Christianity was that Christ advocated taking care of the least of us, and that one passage in Acts that states that they shared everything in common.
As for the first, it was an INDIVIDUAL duty, not a collective duty.
For the second, it was an observation, not a command, and it only applied WITHIN the Christian body.
And, as for the REST of the Bible, it advocates clearly “conservative” principles of private property (2 of the big 10 and fully 1/3 of the horizontal commandments), of requiring work to support yourself, and of the “bottom up” view of how a society works best (each doing his best within his talents, no one dictating from above).
“and give unto God that which is God’s. “ You know, like MARRIAGE!
She still gave the RIGHT answer!
Alicia Jacobs: Vapid is as vapid does.
She reminds me of Esther in a way.
She got there because of her looks, but when the heat was on, she was there to do the Lord’s bidding.
Marriage and family are institutions created by God, marriage being the first institution of man created by God, and the family reflects His nature.
