WASHINGTON (CNN) Meghan McCain warned a group of gay Republicans Saturday that there was "a war brewing in the Republican Party" a war between the past and the future.
"Most of the old school Republicans are scared s***less of that future," she told a gathering of the Log Cabin Republicans, a group of gay and lesbian party members.
The 24-year-old daughter of former GOP presidential candidate John McCain pushed back against critics upset over her comments to CNN that she wanted President Obama to succeed, and played down her recent headline-grabbing feuds with conservative commentators Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham. "I did not expect my frustration with what I perceive to be overly partisan and divisive Republicans to cause a national incident," she said.
"I feel too many Republicans want to cling to past successes
I think we're seeing a war brewing in the Republican Party," she said. "But it is not between us and Democrats. It is not between us and liberals. It is between the future and the past

Any publicity is good publicity.
I feel we are giving her too much.

Except she clearly doesn’t know what a Republican is and ergo is not even close to one.

I believe in Reagan as well... but I read something intersting yesterday and that is "many, many voters today don't even know who Reagan was or what he stood for and when we older voters keep mentioning him their eyes glaze over. We need a new Reagan and 2010/2012 Reagan-like person who will excite this new generation the way he excited our generation."
It got me to asking: Where is that person, a person who stands for something constructive, is willing to speak out about what he/she stands for and has the charisma to excite voters of all ages to follow along...and is a conservative who believes in God, Country and Constitution...

Perhaps her perspective comes from being an Art History major. She should have studied western civilization and concentrated on American history.

"The failed compassionate-conservative past."
I have always hated that and if there is one thing I hold against Bush its the whole "compassionate conservative" malarkey that he ran on.
In order to run on a platform and hold one's self out as something new! Different! A "compassionate conservative!", then what that is saying is that "all those other conservatives past, present and future are not "compassionate" and never have been". But vote for me, Bush, and I'll be more touchy feely.
Well, he turned out not to be more touchy-feely in a lot of ways - lucky for America. Just ask any Libtard and they will tell you that there has never been a more brutal dictator than George Bush.
If an American president like Bush doing his job and keeping America safe is a "brutal dictator" - I would like to see what their definition of a run-of-the-mill average American president is - Barney the Purple Dinosaur?
"Compassionate Conservative" = the biggest back-stab and stupid-play that Republicans ever got themselves entangled with.
It is an apologetic and defensive moniker that presupposes that all conservatives have not compassion to begin with - which is just another Liberal Lie. Conservatives have sufficient compassion and don't need to apologize for ANYTHING.
Never play from a defensive position in politics.

who is this stupid bitch and why does anyone care what she says? She is able to capitalize and so folks take her seriously.
You can be absolutely brilliant yet write like a moron and folks will not take you seriously.
See, it all starts with the first word in a sentence.
We do a thing called "capitalizing" to the first letter in that first word.
It's new and not everyone has caught on to it yet.

I can understand why what she says is reported, but I don’t understand why anyone would take her advice.

Believe it or not, when I bought my old GMC truck some time back, it had a windshield sticker of an Arizona yacht club on it. Yet when I replaced dash bulbs and some other things it needed, I found there was sand everywhere that I had to vacuum out. LOL

Except she clearly doesnt know what a Republican is and ergo is not even close to one. She's just another plant with the intent of destroying the GOP "further" from within...
But give her time, she'll reach "huffington" level insanity...

She has never done anything in life except graduate from the same liberal university as the current POTUS... she needs to go away, get a job and get a life.. no one in the GOP cares what she has to say and the dems are loving this because, for some crazy reason, they actually think she has some sort of power.

she clearly skipped history at Columbia.

There's already a Culture of Death/Pro-Sodomy party. Do we really need two of them?
If the GOP goes "gay", they can count me out. And I'm not old-school. I'm mid-30s.
