Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton criticized Iran on Saturday for sentencing an American journalist to eight years in prison for spying.
"I am deeply disappointed by the reported sentencing of Roxana Saberi by the Iranian judiciary," said Clinton in a statement released by the State Department. "We will continue to vigorously raise our concerns to the Iranian government."

Well that’s that. Hillary and Brrack will just “continue to raise concerns.” Ruthless dictators hate that!
Another test of The One, and he failed again.
Reminds me of Demi Moore's character in "A Few Good Men" when the judge denied her objection: "I strenuously object!!" -- the judge still shut her down and she was mocked by Tom Cruise later.
I’m sure the UN Human Rights commission will get right on this.
Wow. Friends like that, who needs enemies.
H! is still the smartest woman in the world.
Clinton = obvious perp walk opportunity missed...
Yeah, you betcha. In our dreams perhaps...
Saberi alive, or Ahmadinejad dead!
But we don't, instead we have a haggle of marxists who would rather destroy this nation, its way of life, and its liberty than defend its citizen and constitution.

geez, not just diappointed but DEEPLY disappointed...gosh...that’ll shake things up...
Ms. Saberi is an American citizen. I’m so glad the Administration is more concerned about “good” relations with the Iran regime than with the rights of American citizens.
Tough options. Rigorous options. With smart diplomacy on top. That'll show 'em. |
she is also an Iranian citizen, so it has been claimed. Which citizenship takes precedence?? I would imagine the country where she has been living and working - Iran.
Women are second-class citizens in Iran, so by that token I say her American citizenship should trump that.
This is essentially a hostage situation...welcome back, Carter!
