Janet Napolitano was right. There were hatemongers at the Tea Party rallies on Tax Day. They called themselves reporters.
The Department of Homeland Security released a pre-emptive assessment report on the dangers of right-wing extremists just a week before the tax protest rallies. According to DHS, these potentially include pro-lifers, supporters of border security and that notoriously unstable group - U.S. military veterans.
And I can report that there were, in fact, quite a few vets at our Tea Party at Long Wharf. But other than their crazy notion that spending our kids into an $11 trillion hole is wrong, they didnt appear to be unhinged.
The same cannot be said for the reporters.
CNNs Susan Roesgen, an alleged reporter covering the Chicago Tea Party, lashed out at the participants like an angry MoveOn.org member. What does this have to do with taxes? she demanded of one attendee, as he held his 2-year old and spoke of personal liberty. Dont you realize youre eligible for a tax credit, she shouted at him. Dont you know that Illinois is getting stimulus money?
Unable to get the participants to join her in support of Obama-nomics, Roesgen dismissed the event as anti-government and anti-CNN, since this is highly promoted by right-wing, conservative network, Fox.
Roesgen is right. Fox is different from CNN. For one thing, Ive never seen a Fox field reporter shout down an interview subject. And people actually watch Fox.
When Roesgen threw the story back to the studio, things didnt get better. CNN and MSNBC anchors made sexually-suggestive puns by turning tea bag into a verb. (If you have to ask, you dont want to know.)
At least they were talking about it. In Boston, that would have been...

Whatever happened to ole’ Michael Graham? WMAL went on a slacker movement for a while and I lost track. Chris Plante is ok for a while. I liked Chris Core but he’s bit too liberal for my taste now. That DHS really got my dander up, being an old retired sailor and all. Cleaned all my guns and bought a new Bible.
Large print you know...age, etc
Chris Plante got canned last week.
They picked a number that deliberately understated the attendance of events by as much as 80% for events like Houston and 50% low for Cincinnati. Each number in this proverbial list was off by wild amounts low and 500 to 700 of the tea parties were completely left out of the number.
Why isn't a big name calling them out? I am used to MSM deliberately distorting but why would Hot Air be the source for such?
Founding Bloggers has exclusive video of Roesgen that was taken when she was not on air with CNN. Interesting.
“It was true democracy in action. And thats why liberals find it so scary.”
OOOHHHHHH EXCELLENT!
Better yet, ask her to move all of her money from her purse to MY pocket, and I’ll agree to give her half back. Shouldn’t she be grateful for that money she was just ‘given’?
Can’t speak for DHS ~ I used to know a few Government operatives at NSA and FBI on the ground floor they were pretty good folks ~ I heard a local law enforcement officer call in on an AM show and say that he and his colleagues thought this report was ludicrous and that they had no plans to waste their time investigating Joe Sixpack.
That doesn’t make it any less stupid or outrageous. I think it does create an opportunity where they may use such tactics to harrass “normal” people after all of the Obamabots are in place.
Could be that maybe the memo may be a means of “building down future expectations” so that we won’t be scandalized by such nonesense in the future, when Obama youth are in full flower. I’d hate to give our boy Barry that kind of credit for think so far in advance (persronally, I don’t think he’s that smart), but the theory does sound like a page from the “Rules for Radicals” template.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Thanks, Guy....
I heard Michael on Curtis Sliwa’s radio show a few nights ago and he was AWESOME, as always! (Talking about Tea Parties).
Have a lovely weekend!
Well done. Of course, any facts that contradict the controlling authority will be ignored.
On Grandy and Andy? I heard that, too.
I wasn’t referring to him in particular. I really don’t know if he is serious or not.
That’s right and i wasn’t faulting him for not being articulate. I just thought it was too bad he wasn’t able to back up his argument. And he said something to the cameraman it seemed like. Something like “can you stop this?” He probably meant stop recording, but it kind of looked like the light in his face was bothering him or he thought it might be bothering the baby.
Neither do I. He seems to be a finger in the wind pol, to me.
He was obviously not comfortable about speaking on camera and she did not give him a chance to explain his views. He had a deer in the headlights look and I think that is why she picked him to begin with- he looked like a good target to her and that is what she wanted. She attacked him when he was still attempting to explain his thinking. That is why to be effective in the face of the media you need to think sound bites- they won’t give you time to explain and won’t understand what you are saying anyway. The other issue with the media is if you do give a long explanation they will cut it into sound bites designed to make you look bad anyway- since your message won’t fit their agenda.
That makes a lot of sense.
