Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) suggested Thursday that former Vice President Dick Cheney should tone down his criticism of President Barack Obama.
Cheney has repeatedly criticized the presidents national security policy, saying recently on CNNs State of the Union that Obamas decisions raise the risk to the American people of another attack.
Asked to respond to Cheneys remark during an interview ABCs Good Morning America, Jindal said: I don't think we should question President Obama's patriotism or his intentions.
I think Democrat or Republican, we should all agree that our current president, our former president would obviously want to do everything they could to keep us safe, he said. Let's give the new administration a chance. Let's not question their intentions. Let's have a real debate on their policies.
The Republican governor praised Obama for showing more flexibility when it comes to Iraq than maybe some of the campaign rhetoric suggested.
I am, quite honestly, pleasantly surprised, he said. That's the kind of pragmatism, listening to the commanders on the ground, I think is very important.
Jindal did offer some criticism of the president, pointing out that it is fine to have an honest disagreement on the policies that both administrations would choose to try to keep us safe.
At some point, we need to stop going overseas and apologizing, criticizing our predecessors, he said.
It feels as if I woke up in the bizaaro world today.
Cheney has balls. Et tu, Bobby??
If he shouldn’t criticize the evil man who is destroying America, then whom should we criticize, Bobby?
Methinks you are a fool, Bobby.
And why.....????? Bush never got a break from the lippy MSM who never shut up. Did they honestly think we were going to just lay down and die?
Thats all I needed to here...see ya Bobby.
Well Bobby just crapped on his chances for 2012. Mr. Cheney, keep doing your part to get the truth out there. People are listening!
Asked to respond to Cheneys remark during an interview ABCs Good Morning America, Jindal said: I don't think we should question President Obama's patriotism or his intentions.

What's with Bobby? Bad enough he seems bent on pursuing the nice guy routine, but where does he get that Cheney questioned the O's patriotism?
This makes no sense to me at all.
Enjoy Louisiana, Bobby, you’re going to have a long and meaningful relationship with your state.
You’re finished nationally!
It may be a ‘politically correct’ move but personally, I’m sick of this “ettiquette” crap.
The libs would cut ALL our of throats in our sleep *if* they thought they could get away with it.
I’ve always had a combative attitude towards “politics” but I’m getting old and bitchy [well, bitchier, to be honest...LOL] and “No More Mr Nice Guy” is my new motto.
[and I don’t really care if somebody “doesn’t like it”]
All of the so-called “conservatives” better grow a pair FAST.
This *is* the End Game.
Cheney's comments do not touch upon the MOTIVATION for these policies, but their most likely RESULT.
Someone may well want to free all the Gitmo guys MOTIVATED by pure humanitarian kumbayaa reasons; but the RESULT of that would be an increased threat to the USA.
Jindal just isn't very smart...... or conservative.
Jindal has “bought in” to the meme that the MSM is trying to push that any question of the wisdom or utility of an Obama policy is a personal attack on the Presidency and the person who currently fills that role in our Republic.
We gave them a chance. They acted worse than we thought.
If that’s not grounds for criticism, that what is Governor?
(Heaven help us)
I dissagree...Jindal could have just as easily said former vice president Cheny is entitled to his opinion and makes some good points.
Why would that be so difficult??
Lets give the new administration a chance. Lets not question their intentions. Lets have a real debate on their policies.
We tried to have debate on Stimulus and they LOCKED US OUT OF THOSE DELIBERATIONS!
Jindal has lost favor with me. His response to Obama’s Joint Session speech was very weak and now this.
Sarah Palin is a much better choice for us in 4 years.
Prayers up for true leaders to emerge from the mess we find ourselves in at this time! It’s like a nonstop flood of appeasement from all sides - truly disheartening for those yearning for substantive, honest, and patriotic leadership!
“Sarah Palin is a much better choice for us in 4 years.”
AMEN!!!!!!!! I’m with ya, 100%!!!!!!
SARAH!!!!!!! SARAH!!!!!!!! SARAH!!!!!
It is time to recollect, as if you ever could forget, the lack of consideration President Bush was shown during his administrations.
It is possibly the worst case scenario for a president to conduct a life-and-death military struggle while getting sniped at home. And believe it, that was a disgraceful and traitorous assault on a sitting President, who was trying to defend the U.S.
It's something the recollection of which I'll take to MY grave for sure... and THE reason that nothing will ever induce me to give Liberals a break ON ANYTHING.
I won't indulge the competent ones (whoever they are) or the flat-out, spineless dim wits like the ‘President’ we have now! No, Im not forgetting what was done in the last 8 years.
Bobby needs to think past his nose.
Bye Bye, Bobby
With a comment like that it would be in order to question your patriotism, Jindal.
Exactly
Wow, talk about political suicide.
