Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) suggested Thursday that former Vice President Dick Cheney should tone down his criticism of President Barack Obama.
Cheney has repeatedly criticized the president’s national security policy, saying recently on CNN’s “State of the Union” that Obama’s decisions “raise the risk to the American people of another attack.”
Asked to respond to Cheney’s remark during an interview ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Jindal said: “I don't think we should question President Obama's patriotism or his intentions.”
“I think Democrat or Republican, we should all agree that our current president, our former president would obviously want to do everything they could to keep us safe,” he said. “Let's give the new administration a chance. Let's not question their intentions. Let's have a real debate on their policies.”
The Republican governor praised Obama for “showing more flexibility when it comes to Iraq than maybe some of the campaign rhetoric suggested.”
“I am, quite honestly, pleasantly surprised,” he said. “That's the kind of pragmatism, listening to the commanders on the ground, I think is very important.”
Jindal did offer some criticism of the president, pointing out that it is “fine to have an honest disagreement on the policies that both administrations would choose to try to keep us safe.”
“At some point, we need to stop going overseas and apologizing, criticizing our predecessors,” he said.
It feels as if I woke up in the bizaaro world today.

Cheney's comments do not touch upon the MOTIVATION for these policies, but their most likely RESULT.
Someone may well want to free all the Gitmo guys MOTIVATED by pure humanitarian kumbayaa reasons; but the RESULT of that would be an increased threat to the USA.
Jindal just isn't very smart...... or conservative.
Jindal has “bought in” to the meme that the MSM is trying to push that any question of the wisdom or utility of an Obama policy is a personal attack on the Presidency and the person who currently fills that role in our Republic.
We gave them a chance. They acted worse than we thought.

I dissagree...Jindal could have just as easily said former vice president Cheny is entitled to his opinion and makes some good points.
Why would that be so difficult??

We tried to have debate on Stimulus and they LOCKED US OUT OF THOSE DELIBERATIONS!
Jindal has lost favor with me. His response to Obama’s Joint Session speech was very weak and now this.
Sarah Palin is a much better choice for us in 4 years.

It is time to recollect, as if you ever could forget, the lack of consideration President Bush was shown during his administrations.
It is possibly the worst case scenario for a president to conduct a life-and-death military struggle while getting sniped at home. And believe it, that was a disgraceful and traitorous assault on a sitting President, who was trying to defend the U.S.
It's something the recollection of which I'll take to MY grave for sure... and THE reason that nothing will ever induce me to give Liberals a break …ON ANYTHING.
I won't indulge the competent ones (whoever they are) or the flat-out, spineless dim wits like the ‘President’ we have now! No, I’m not forgetting what was done in the last 8 years.
