Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) suggested Thursday that former Vice President Dick Cheney should tone down his criticism of President Barack Obama.
Cheney has repeatedly criticized the presidents national security policy, saying recently on CNNs State of the Union that Obamas decisions raise the risk to the American people of another attack.
Asked to respond to Cheneys remark during an interview ABCs Good Morning America, Jindal said: I don't think we should question President Obama's patriotism or his intentions.
I think Democrat or Republican, we should all agree that our current president, our former president would obviously want to do everything they could to keep us safe, he said. Let's give the new administration a chance. Let's not question their intentions. Let's have a real debate on their policies.
The Republican governor praised Obama for showing more flexibility when it comes to Iraq than maybe some of the campaign rhetoric suggested.
I am, quite honestly, pleasantly surprised, he said. That's the kind of pragmatism, listening to the commanders on the ground, I think is very important.
Jindal did offer some criticism of the president, pointing out that it is fine to have an honest disagreement on the policies that both administrations would choose to try to keep us safe.
At some point, we need to stop going overseas and apologizing, criticizing our predecessors, he said.
No Gov. Jindal, how sad! You lost me :(
Jindal is definitely not a viable candidate. Look to Sanford in 2012
Hey Jindal, up yours you coward!
Not question Obama’s intentions? That’s the one thing that should be done.
There’s no question about his patriotism - it is solely with the UN.
p.s. We REALLY miss you!!!!
Feet of Clay, Bobby?
I think Cheney has every right to say what ever he wants.
Somewhere in Alaska....there is a lady whose Presidential chances just went up many-fold....and asking Bobby to “just keep talking”....
Gov Sanford called Rush and other Conservatives who want Obama to fail “idiots”. Rush covered this issue quite a bit.
Jindal is wrong.
The truth is ALWAYS appropriate as a discussion point.
The fact that it so deeply offends Obambi (BIRD!) is simply a bonus.
Jindal can kiss my fat, hairy, butt.
WRONGO. Zero's first call was to Hamas after he was inaugurated. He is a diplomatic synchophant, sure to cause the deaths of thousands of American servicemen and women. Cheny is doing EXACTOLY what needs to be done. As a matter of fact, many should be joining Cheny in his criiticism.
Maybe Obama should " lay off" criticizing Bush? Obama can dish it out but can't take it. Zero has earned the criticism by his conduct, and he should get more than criticism, Zero should be impeached for treason, and crimes he has committed in his election process, including failure to comply with Article II, section 1 of the Constitution.
You bet Obama should be criticized. He is traitor and a criminal.
Good God, what a disappointment. I really wish the Rodney King wing of the Republican party would just shut the hell up.
O Good gravy....somebody give Jindal A Gibbs-Slap to the back of the head, please!
Did anyone, especially the 'Rats, treat George Bush that way? From his first day in office, all we heard, from the 'Rats, from the media, was this "selected not elected" crap, of how Bush was "dumb", he tried to get out of military duty (going so far as to fake a national TV news story about it), making movies about Bush being assassinated, movies about a 9/11 cover up, and endless tirades about "illegal" wars and of how "dissent was patriotic".
Well, I say, give it right back to them. To hell with the kid gloves. Throw everything they gave Bush right back into the 'Rats ugly faces. Rub their stinking noses in it. And if they whine, beat them harder, and remind them, dissent is patriotic (I heard that somewhere).
“Hello, this is Chuck to remind Bill to SHUT....UP!” LOLOL
“I’ll give you a quarter if you JUST STOP TALKING!!”
Funny-a$$ed movie!!
WHERE are the true leaders of our party? WHERE?
