Tea Party Total Head Count Thread (Post Your Attendance Numbers Here)
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 04/15/2009 3:08:47 PM PDT by kristinn

I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.

I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.

Please give the location and number of participants.

I'll go first:

Melbourne, FL - 1000.

Just got back from the Dallas Tea Party. I’m not good at estimating crowds, but somebody said about 2000. I would have said more. The speakers were great and folks made some really good signs. I got to meet one fellow FReeper there. (Hi, Kimmers!) We took LOTS of pictures and I’ll pick out some of the best and post them on another thread.

Fox news just said over 600 towns and cities took part in tea parties. They’re probably still counting them.

The most moving, Desert Storm Vet. He would not be there in there in the rain if 0 did not bow.

Kristinn...

The total number won’t be known for a couple of days more, but - just from what I have right now, 5 million is not out of the question - AT ALL..

Google News (homepage) has left the tea parties off their news page except for a link with about -5 font size:

"Around 500 in Valencia, California. Great signs! Chilly and windy day here in the Santa Clarita Valley." The winds are supposed to die down. Any word from the Reagan Library in Simi off Madera Road? I sent a scout there after work.

Good evening.

Tampa at 1700 hrs had between 1500-1700 ( conservatively speaking), patriots in Gaslight Park. Tampa also had a rally at 1200 hrs. The First lady and I didn't attend that one. So I have no idea how many were there at that time.

Don’t know if you’ve hear about Harrisonburg, VA yet but theirs went on from 12:00 to 6:00 so people milled in and out over the course of the day. This made estimating difficult but the numbers I saw ranged from 200 to 300 (rather small town.)

I am was amazed at the number of people in Panama City, Florida. 2000+ according to the police and organizers I spoke with and that was shortly after it started. Getting an accurate count was a difficult task due to parking and the amount of traffic.

Around 1200 at TParty in Port Richey which is about 20 miles north of Clearwater on Florida's central Gulf coast.

It was fantastic!
