Obama to 'tea-bag' protesters: I've already cut taxes

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Obliquely answering the hundreds of "tea bag" protests around the country on tax day, President Barack Obama said Wednesday that he's already delivered the most progressive tax cut in history, with 95% of families getting a tax break in every paycheck.

Americans need a "government that is working to create jobs and opportunity for them, rather than simply giving more and more to those at the very top in the false hope that wealth will trickle down," Obama said.

In his remarks, Obama decried the use of taxes as a political wedge issue "to scare people into supporting policies that increased the burden on working people instead of helping them live their dreams."

""to scare people into supporting policies that increased the burden on working people instead of helping them live their dreams.""

This jackass has a lot of gall to say that. Most of the voters he supports wouldn't know a hard days work if it bit them in the butt. Their idea of "helping them live their dreams" means holding out their hand and taking what they've never earned from those that have.

Americans need a "government that is working to create jobs and opportunity for them, rather than simply giving more and more to those at the very top in the false hope that wealth will trickle down," Obama said.

"a government that is working to create jobs and opportunity...."

He means deficit spending as far as the eye can see, inflationary policies that will raise prices and lower the value of the dollar.

"rather than giving more and more to those at the very top"...

How about we have a government that doesn't give money to anyone?? AIG. Fannie, Freddie, GM...... the little guys?

"in the false hope that wealth will trickle down"

trickle down from government? Capitalism works every time its tried, socialism fails everywhere.... so of course he is a moron

Note to the President:
Saying it out loud does NOT make it true.

The reduced withholding must be the “change” he promised us.

What a tool. Reducing withholdings is not a tax cut, it just makes for a larger tax bill when the reduced withholding is combined with the increased taxes come tax day.

the truth "scares people" apparently. When the dollar starts collapsing and prices "skyrocket" I want to see the "working people" turn on Obama. But he and the media will blame it on private businesses of course.

Its always the same with tyrants

I guess it is true that if you tell a lie big enough and long enough people will start to believe it.

Of all the idiotic comments that Obambaloney has made, this might well be the summation of his presidency. “I gave you eight bucks! Shaddap!”

I have a question. So they’re witholding 13 dollars less per paycheck. If I’m still being taxed at the same rate when I file my returns, don’t I essentially pay all of that back?

What a doofus. Seriously, who gathers his “intelligence?” Who prepares his talking points? He really thinks it’s just about taxes, huh? He better retake the pulse of the nation’s TEA parties.

And the experts were suprised that retail sales were off over the last month?

Almost 30% of Americans use some sort of tobacco products and they just had their taxes increased to pay for welfare medical cost.

That's just one tax increase out of many to come, including when Bush's tax cuts expire.
