A member of the House gym has been diagnosed with MRSA a much-feared, antibiotic-resistant bacteria and the facility has been scrubbed to eliminate the possibility that anyone will become infected.

The (edited) memo from administrators at the House fitness center:
On Monday, 4/13, the HSFC was informed by a HSFC patron that they had tested positive for MRSA. This patron was requested to refrain fromusing the facility until all drainage has stopped and only after then with the area completely bandaged and covered with clothing. The patron informed the HSFC staff that they would not intend to visit the facility until the area is completely healed.
Once this incident was reported, the HSFC staff immediately contacted the CAO whom in turn contacted the Office of the Attending Physician. After all of the proper channels were informed, the HSFC staff began to thoroughly disinfect all equipment and areas in the facility.
The solution used to disinfect is the same solution used on a daily basis, Simple Green D Pro 3 disinfectant, virucidal, fungicidal. This was performed in accordance with the directives of the Office of the Attending Physician and in a manner consistent with specific product manufacturer labeling.
The first line of defense in ensuring a safe environment also rests with the HSFC patrons. To further prevent the immediate spread of disease, patrons are required per the terms of the HSFC Membership agreement to thoroughly disinfect the equipment after personal use.
In response, the HSFC has added preventative measures to help ensure the safety of our patrons. You will notice additional signage in the center reminding patrons to disinfect equipment after each use. More paper towel dispensers will be added, as well as additional spray bottle holders to foster this patron compliance. The HSFC staff will continue to thoroughly disinfect equipment, mats, locker room areas, and laundry to ensure the safety of all patrons.

Dirty bass turds.
Why in the world would one Large GERM be Afraid of Another??
MRSA should give the Congresscritter professional courtesy.
Aren’t you glad your tax dollars are used to provide the U.S. House and staff with a free gym, while you have to pay your money to work out at Gold’s or Bally’s? And aren’t you glad that it is nasty and apparently badly managed?
"They" who? This sounds like more than one case.
Did somebody walk by Barney Frank’s towel?
Male aides in the sauna?
There is a dangerous infection in Congress alright, but staph isn’t it.
gee, a government facility that has lazy staff cleaning up... who'd a thunk it?
I think the government should take over all health club facilities, since they're experts on automotive design and sales, health care, mail/package delivery, banking and finance...... running a gym should be a piece of cake.
frickin' clowns.
It's probably spread by someone not wiping off the equipment after picking their nose or doing the farmer's blow then wiping it with their hands.
I'll bet if they give this person antibiotics and they get a small cut in the future, he'll get another staph infection. Probably needs oral meds and nasal bactroban till he's cultured and negative for staph. Otherwise somebody in the gym or the equipment is contaminated.
Unfortunately Kennedy, Reid, Pelosi, Franks and Dodd have never seen the inside of a gym .... too bad.
This may put in kink in Barney Frank’s Friday Frolic in the steam room. (like they need more kink in there?)
Who would have thought, Americas’ bath house was infected.
Really? I would have thought MRSA would have avoided the House gym as a matter of professional courtesy.
I hope all their dicks fall off.
And in addition to it being a “staff” infection, it’s really MURTHA not MRSA that is the problem.
That’s not too notice. With the balls gone years ago there would be nothing left.
Oh nevermind.
That’s not too nice. With the balls gone years ago there would be nothing left.
Oh nevermind.
This is news? There is MRSA all over, it’s just that this person was cultured and found to have it. There are many more people in the community that have it as well, but haven’t been cultured yet.
