During Tea Parties, President To Highlight Tax Cuts

Tomorrow is Tax Day, and conservatives across the country are planning "Tea Parties," intended to be grass-roots "revolts" against the Obama administration's economic policies thus far. Though organized independent of the Republican Party, a number of officeholders and candidates are planning to attend local events.

At the White House, Robert Gibbs said that he's not sure if President Obama is aware of the planned demonstrations. He will, however, mark the day with a White House event "to signal the important steps in the Economic Recovery and Reinvestment plan that cut taxes for 95 percent of working families in America," Gibbs said.

"We'll use tomorrow to highlight individual instances and families that have seen their taxes cut," he said. "Americans will see more money into their pockets as a direct result of the making work pay tax cut that the president both campaigned on and passed through Congress."

Here are some pennies for some of you peasants. The shiny pennies will hopefully distract you from the digging that I shall do in your wallet...and your kids’ wallets.

Idiots, Businesses don’t pay these increased taxes. They either go out of business laying people off or pass it on to 95% of Americans.

Econ101, Idiots.

When is someone going to call them on this.

Yes the incredibly insignificant and laughable $ 400 dollars one time tax credit for people making $ 75,000 or less which amounts to 8 dollars per week. On the other hand he is adding trillions of dollars in additional tax increases and will allow the Bush tax cuts to expire and then each tax payer will be paying much more in taxes.

The “stimulus” package only gave very limited tax credits, not tax cuts.

- $400 for singles making $70K or less.
- $800 for joint filers making $140K or less

Excellent post. When the company I work for will be paying tens of millions of dollars more in taxes because of socialist Obama tax increase then for certain my company is going to lay off a lot of people.

I don’t believe this for a second. They think I’m upper middle class. Even if I did get a slight “tax-cut”, it’s not going to make up for the PAY-cut my employer gave me so he could pay his higher taxes.

Officeholders and candidates will be speaking at the Tea Parties? Oh, this should be good!

Any current officeholder who gets up on stage had better be wearing a helmet and a stain-resistant suit! And if any of them voted for the stimulus package (without reading the damn thing) then they’d better know how to scrape tar and feathers off their miserable hides.

Candidates are OK but they had better say EXACTLY the right things (return to the Constitution, slash federal spending to include entire departments, eliminate the IRS, etc.). Or else.

Oh yeah, this could be lots of fun!

The Messiah said there are no earmarks and pork in his stimulus plan. If the Messiah says he’s pro-tax cut, then it must be true.

the more they use the phrase 95 percent the more fake and phoney it sounds. I”m so tired of hearing tax cuts for 95 percent and anyone over $250K.

It is beyond stupid

At the White House, Robert Gibbs said that he's not sure if President Obama is aware of the planned demonstrations. Where has this Obama been? He knows there are tea parties... if he doesn't maybe Gibby should tell him

He doesn’t know that tens of thousands of people across the country are taking to the streets in protest against our government. Oh, please. Would they lie?

These so-called “tea parties” are not about taxes. The protests are about all the marxist crap and enormous debt Obama and congress are putting on the backs of the American people for now and generations to come. It is about a movement to save our country from destruction by hoodlums and marxists.

Is this the tax cut that returns a whopping $13 a week to taxpayers? Too bad the congress didn’t return its automatic pay raise while they were at it.

And too bad Obama can’t seem to travel with less than 500 adoring employees. How much did that cost the taxpayers?
