The Escalating War Between Obama and Bush
DC Examiner ^ | April 14, 2009 | Byron York

Posted on 04/13/2009 9:09:34 PM PDT by Scanian

Former White House adviser Karl Rove's bare-knuckled response to recent statements by Vice President Joe Biden has brought into public view a growing resentment on the part of Bush administration veterans over what they regard as repeated and unwarranted slams from the Obama White House. The current president and his team are being "gratuitous, slightly petty, and slightly obsessive in blaming Bush for things," one former White House adviser told me.

"Completely gratuitous," said another.

"Unfair," said a third.

The hard feelings surfaced after an April 7 interview on CNN in which Biden recounted a visit with George W. Bush. "I remember President Bush saying to me one time in the Oval Office…he said, 'Well, Joe, I'm a leader.'" Biden recalled. "And I said, 'Mr. President, turn around and look behind you. No one's following.'"

A few days later, Rove accused Biden of lying. "It didn't happen," Rove said on Fox News. "He's making these things up out of whole cloth…It is a habit he ought to drop….You should not exaggerate and lie like this when you are the vice president of the United States."

Rove said he had checked with fellow Bushies like former chief of staff Andrew Card and former congressional liaison Candida Wolff, who did not remember anything like Biden's story. What was left unsaid was that while former top White House officials denied it, there was little doubt that the former top White House official, George W. Bush, denied it, too. Rove and the former president stay in touch; it would be very, very surprising for Rove to say something so definitive about Biden without checking with the best possible source for the story, Bush himself.

Obama ran against Bush not McCain, he is continuing that strategy. In that, I have to say Obama is scum but then he is a leftist.

Maybe the Bush machine needs to leak some information about someone soon. The Republic hangs in the balance.

Biden continually proves that he is 0bama's Life Insurance.

0bama continually proves that he is the thinnest-skinned president in my lifetime, with less class than President Bush had in his pinkie.

That’s an interesting point that you bring up about McCain and Palin being elected...

I’m not questioning the veracity of your statement, but rather, looking for information...Why do you think that is that the Bush machine wouldn’t want McCain-Palin to be elected?

You are all being distracted by Biden. Non issue to distract you.

I would take Biden over you know who any day of the week.

Biden’s family is not part of the Islamic (Somali) Luo tribe.

Biden is stupid but he is not evil.

Show us the BC.

There is a big difference between class and crass.

President Bush and his administration? = A class act.

The obowma and biden administration? = Pure crass.

I say wash and crick. My parents say worsh and crick. That doesn’t bother me. Even though I say it that way, I don’t go around spelling it that way. Everyone knows that “would of” is just plain stupid lazy ignorant for “would’ve”. Pronounce it any way you want. But spell it right.

Biden is just stupid. Dishonest, as well—heck he is a known plagiarizer—’nuff said. He is a clown. Best just to ignore him. And Obama just has no class or grace. How could he? Look where he came from. Look at who his advisers are. Look at who he married.

But Bush and Obama will kiss and makeup when it comes time for forcing amnesty on an unwilling and angry American public.

Uh Bush is just sitting on his ranch going to the occassional ball game. It’s Obama that’s throwing all the verbal grenades his way. Obama = no class.

How bout the Repubs quit fighting against Bush. We have one enemy and it isn’t George Bush. We all know you are far more superior conservatives than the rest of us so get off your soapbox and join the real fight. We bow to your superiority, now get in the battle.

Pray for America

I just would like to know why anyone would believe that the President spends his time in the Oval Office in one-on-one, off-the-record chats with a Senator from the opposing party?

Well, Kruschev did it once with Lavrenti Beria, and we know how that one turned out, don't we?

CA....
