House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, announced last week that she wants to register guns. Her next move will be to try to confiscate them.
The speaker picked a television show with a viewership of 4.6 million to float the Democrats' coming gun-control push. Questioned on ABC's "Good Morning America" about the prospect of new gun-control laws now that "it's a Democratic president, a Democratic House," she responded, "We don't want to take their guns away. We want them registered."
Politicians and bureaucrats routinely claim that registration helps solve crimes. If a registered gun is used in a crime and left at the crime scene, registration supposedly lets the police trace the gun back to the criminal. Though this turn of events might work on fictional TV crime shows, it virtually never occurs in real life. Criminals' guns are rarely left at crime scenes. When guns are left behind, it usually is because a crook has been seriously injured or killed and the police are poised to catch him anyway.
The few guns left at crime scenes rarely - if ever - are registered to the perpetrator. If they are registered at all, it is to someone else, whose piece was stolen. Despite what Mrs. Pelosi might think, those who use guns to commit major crimes such as robbing and killing are unlikely to respect her request to file paperwork so the government can catalog the tools of their trade.
Numerous examples disprove gun-control propaganda. Hawaii has had licensing and registration of guns for about 50 years.

The Constitution is very clear . . . and it says . . . A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Or in more common language: A disciplined Militia is necessary for the security of a free State (Country), however, the right of the non-military people to keep and use their armaments shall not be violated.
PLEASE WILL YOU JUST MAIL YOUR CONGRESS PEOPLE A COPY OF THE CONSTITUTION AND THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE? Print it off and you highlight it and then send it with a cover letter.
PLEASE MAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT CONGRESS PEOPLE WHO DO NOT EVEN READ THE CONSTITUTION . . . the more we bring this to the attention of the public, the better.
Maybe they're worried about their 'security' at home with the increasing "residential crime" they've been reading about. Also, maybe they realize now that the police can't be everywhere to protect them within seconds.
Well here's 'good news' for them. Smith & Wesson has just announced a new handgun designed just for the person who is un-familiar with - and possibly afraid of - handguns, yet wants to have adequate home protection:
The "SW18044L" ('L' signifies 'liberal').. You will note that this handsome, powerful weapon is a "commemorative model" which proudly bears the Democratic "Donkey" & a large capital "D"!
Tell your Democrat friends to be sure to get their orders in early, because they will be in high demand! And if they are not unhappy with their Obama vote yet...THEY WILL BE SOON! ... THEY have been lied to too!
Thanks, I just joined the NRA. I’ve been meaning to since the greater the number in their ranks they can boast, the more influence they have with politicians.
Here is what Obama and the Dims want in a gun control bill...
1. An expanded HR 45, gun owner licensing. All gun owners will have to have these licenses, even owners of facilimie weapons (AKA Airsoft and BB). Licenses will only be granted if the records of the applicant are clean (This includes misdemeanors from decades ago). Licenses will have high renewal fees ($100-300/yr). Licensees will be required to hold $1 million in liability insurance. Possession of otherwise permitted weapons (See #3) without license is a felony.
2. Ammunition accountability... All ammo will be required to be microstamped and will be taxed $1/round. All non stamped ammo will be required to be turned in or thrown away. Possession of non-marked ammo is a felony. This part of the act also bans Cop Killer bullets. Furthermore, this will require the gun to leave a microstamp of its own on the ammo. (BTW, this will also affect law enforcement and military ammunition stocks, as they will be required to have stamps of their own)
3. Expanded Assault Weapons ban This includes most all semiauto rifles, anything that can be Bump Fired, Semiauto handguns, and Semi-auto shotguns. It also includes pump-action shotguns and Sniper Rifles AKA your deer rifle. The AWB will also require people with Prebans to register their guns as Machine Guns, and that the tax stamp will go up to $10,000 per weapon. If you cant afford this, you have to turn the weapon in without compensation...
4. Expansion of the Lautenbach amendment: Removes Domestic Violence as disqualifier to gun ownership, inserts any misdemeanor as disqualifer... Anyone with a misdemeanor on their record will be prohibited from owning a firearm. This includes DUI and traffic offenses, and offenses decades ago.
Finally, all CCW permits will be voided. Also, all gun and ammo imports will be banned.
How is this going to work? The Dims will probably require everyone have $1 million of liability insurance for each gun owned as well as for the FOID card that all gun owners will be required to have to register their guns (Ones that are NOT “Assault Weapons”)...
Any of those would “cross the line”, and I think they know it.
Compliance would be very low.
You are welcome, and thank you for joining.
We are facing the most anti-gun administration and Congress ever, and it's going to be a long and difficult fight to stop gun control.
That's right. Nor would I ever pay for one or purchase ammunition with a credit card.
That should so be on a billboard in every major city in the U.S.
Here’s another one:
“Never Forget, even for an instant, that the one and only reason anybody has for taking your gun away is to make you weaker than he is, so he can do something to you that you wouldn’t allow him to do if you were equipped to prevent it. This goes for burglars, muggers, and rapists, and even more so for policemen, bureaucrats, and politicians.”
The Dimrats don’t care. They think that any electoral losses will be made up through amnesty and voter fraud.
How many voted for the Ze-Ro.
Recent gun sales suggest that millions of people share your fears. The problem is that our political representation is so weak in all respects.
Only the beginning my friends.
NRA spokesperson Rachel Parsons explains, “Several provisions in this bill would make compliance nearly impossible. For instance, the bill spells out that if a firearms license holder fails to notify the Attorney General of an address change within 60 days, that person would be subject to a 5 year prison term and a fine of up to $250,000.”
Parsons continues, “This bill goes against the core of what the NRA works for. Any kind of bill that would require photographing and fingerprinting for simple possession of a firearm is fundamentally different in opinion from that which the NRA holds. Any law should target the criminal element, but this law would simply further burden law-abiding people.”
1/6/2009—Introduced.

Pelosi should be given to the somalis and they should be told that not one penny will be paid for her ransom, but that we believe she could be trained to dance for them.
In the four states that I have experience in frequenting gun stores, that is not the case (Nebraska, New Mexico, Iowa, and Kansas).
The reason is I have heard the cops call the store, asking them to pull their records for such and such gun with X serial number. From what I understand, you need to have that info on hand.
“We don’t want to take their guns away. We want them registered.”
They must think we are as loopy as they are! This has been the longest three months of my life and I’ll be fifty this week...all the potential rights grabbing is exhausting.
Yup, we have 45 more months of this stuff, but I hope to God we can come up with a really conservative candidate in the next couple of years.
I have a similar problem. When the choice is between firearms and carpeting, freedom is more important than having an ugly floor.
“We don’t want to take their guns away. We want them registered.”
WO-HO! De j’veu!
Back in 1962 Thomas J Dodd and Emanual Cellar proposed a federal gun control law. “We don’t want to take your guns away, we ONLY want to register handguns! Long guns will not be affected!”
1963 the same two decided now they wanted to register ALL guns and ban all military surplus 5 shot bolt action rifles.
In 1968 they almost got their wish as the Congress was stampeded into passing that travesty the 1968 Gun Control Law.
1971 the cry was “We want to ban ONLY “Saturday night Specials”!
1976 the cry was “We want to ban ALL handguns!”
1981, “Gve up your handguns and you can keep your rifles!”
1989 We want to ban all Handguns and Assault Rifles!”
Jump to 2009 and now we see calls for bans and regulations on “Sniper Rifles”.
They have never given up. They will push, and push. Never give an inch!
