The president of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (Phillips’ alma mater) just said on CNN that he wished “it didn’t have to end this way.” What kind of BS is that???

The "everyone's a victim" BS. Surely the pirates do what they do because they are the products of broken homes, or were discriminated against, or were looked at funny once when they were five. It can't be because they are amoral, greedy criminals.

It is a mental defect to automatically excuse bad behavior, but liberals have made it an art form. Look for the "increase in burglaries due to bad economy" stories that will portray the thieves as the victims, coming to a dying newspaper near you.

Wouldn’t it be a shock to them if they met Christ instead????

I doubt they would get that far.

I think they would first meet Saint Peter and then maybe Cerberus and finally Satan.

Did ya hear that we told the Pirates they would be “Prosecuted” after giving up ? Another Liberal View, bring the Kidnapping murders to Court in the USA ?

No wonder it took so long, when Negotiators want them to act like bank robbers caught inside the Bank after a failed heist of Burbank Savings and Loan.

If those guys had made landfall, with the captain, it would have gone really bad for BHO and Friends.

Maybe Harvard Grads CAN figure things out, after 4 or 5 days of thinking ? ? Naw, it was the Navy Seals that did all the planning, thinking, execution of the Successful Plan.

I think we have found how this action came about. I just heard the CEO of Maresk shipping praising the maritime unions over and over for their help in ending this. My bet is a few union members had more influence on O'H? than all the military...

What evidence is there of an officer acting alone outside his orders?

I’ve seen none. It is one thing to be critical and another to just make something up. You have defamed the Navy commander

Now let's see what is done with captured pirate ...I suppose he already has a government paid lawyer and has been given his Miranda rights. Maybe Bambi will give him a pardon and send him back to Somali with an apology that we were so tough on him.

Or maybe he'll grant the ex-pirate refugee status and place him in Minnesota or Lewiston, Maine.

CNN is now saying the capitan did *not* dive out a second time, but was rescued after it was determined that his life was under immanent threat, so the US Forces on the raft near to the life boat closed in and shot the pirates at close range.

It’s being said that the officer on board the navy boat near the Life boat came to believe the capitans life was inder immanent threat, and reacted under exigent circumstances. Saw an opportunity and tok it. As far as disobeying orders...like you, the only place I’ve heard that bandied about was here on FR.

I’ve said for years, that PC has reduced our military to shreds. We are totally dependent on our “special forces” (all male) and high tech to stay ahead.

I think those other 200+ hostages are from other raids over the previous year, but I don’t think any are Americans. They’re being held until the ransom is paid.

UPDATEavy Press Briefing:

One of the 4 pirates went on board the Bainbrige to negotiate.

The Lifeboat was being towed by the Bainbridge into calmer waters, by agreement, because the sea was getting rough.

The Capitan was tied up on board the lifeboat.

The 3 pirates on board the lifeboat were exposing theior heads above the lifeboat hatches. At one point, one of the 3 pointed his AK47 at the back of thwe capitan. At that point, the Special Forces snipers on the fantail of the Bainbridge opened fire, and killed the 3 pirates on board the lifeboat.

The US sent a Rib (Rubber boat up to the Lifeboat, boarded, untied the capitain, put a lifesaver on him, put him in the rib, and took him to the Bainbridge.

Ah HA...we hear that “Negotiate” was the Primary command from the TOTUS, with a 2nd byline that “if the Captain’s Life was in IMMEDIATE danger” to go ahead and violently address the Problem.

Newsmen wanted to know how “Suddenly” the Captain’s Life was threatened (if it wasn’t already)...in view of them previously shooting in the water at him, and in view that he was held at gunpoint for several days....uhhh....ummm...well, thanks to the “interpretation” of the Captain of the Bainbrdge he acted upon the “Threat”.

Obama was off the hook if the action was a disaster, as Obama commanded “Negotiations” first.....violence if no other choice. I think the Targets presented themselves, and the the Navy “reacted”.

Nice job, Navy.
