If you call up Pirate Town, you probably will get the Duty Pirate. He’s the bored-looking one sitting by himself at a wooden table with a phone on it and a green notebook for logging call activity.

Many many more hostages are being held for ransom, I say we strike again while the iron is hot, can’t waste a “crisis” so to speak.

And the Pentagon's Special Ops planners said, 'Mr. President, if we are going to have a best outcome here, we should draw up a workable plan, train our guys for a day on it, and then fly them out' Where did you get that quote from?

The present GOP lead by Mr. Steele is following the Jimmy Carter weakness personified doctrine. Instead of LOUDLY proclaiming Obama is inadequate to the task of MILITARY commander and showing how a MILITARY problem does not get solved with mere police negotiators through stating the obvious.
Instead Mr. Steele (and mr. gingrich, and mr. senate minority leader and mr. house minority leader) are joining in the RNC in dancing the surrender dance of a thousand wimps.

If you don't know enough about ozero to realize that he deserves to be bashed any time and all the time, especially here, then its you that has the problem. Count me as having the problem as well because I find this knee jerking hysteria troublesome and DU / BDS - like.
Side point - I was listening to Air America last night and they had some goofball from Salon.com who was bitching that Obama's DOJ had followed the Bush admin's precedents in a current situation related to the executive's powers to collect domestic intel.
There's a lot going on that we don't know, regardless of what we suspect.

Certainly with the heavy Navy presence in the area this would be handy. But I think we’d need the OK from the other countries whose ships were pirated, or that are the homelands of the hostages. (I.e. get them to issue us a letter of marque.)

Been here since 1998, dude. Long before you signed up. I was here when folks were bashing Bush for not acting quickly enough in Afghanistan. This is similar. I see a bunch of people pulling hamstrings by all the vigorous jumping to conclusions. And facts, reason and truth should be the currency of conservatives, not uniformed blather.

Oh, that's why the hostages in Iran were held for 444 days!
To ruin Carter's presidency.
What an inane question.
Obama's doing a fine job destroying his presidency without sacrificing a citizen to the process.

And it turns out they had run out of ammo after firing on a launch approaching the lifeboat. So we murdered three unarmed men?

And it turns out they had run out of ammo after firing on a launch approaching the lifeboat. We can be certain that some very brave Navy (or other branch, this is now listed a joint ops) personnel volunteered to be on that launch drawing fire. The best and bravest on the face of the earth.
