I know, you're fed up with reading about Michelle Obama. But let me just tempt you towards one last, tiny detail: the First Lady's falsies. Michelle Obama is normally so natural looking, it's surprising to find something about her that is so unapologetically fake.
Those eyelashes weren't even trying to look real.
No, they were full-on, all-out diva lashes, the kind you normally find on D-list celebrities or in drag-act dressing rooms. The allure of the long lash is well-documented. They define and sexualise the gaze, making the eyes appear bigger (and therefore younger). Gazing up at someone through luscious lashes is considered an act of seduction; it's even entered the vernacular: “you batted your eyelashes at him”.
Given that Mrs Obama's intention was to seduce Europe, she chose those lashes well, making no attempt to conceal the artifice. She did not, for example, opt for lash extensions which give the most natural finish. These are bonded to the wearer's own lashes, a painstaking process that nevertheless yields fantastic results. And also I see a well-done eyebrow pencilling, with a powder fill. Don’t go too light though with your natural brow (bleaching). I have seen ‘brow roots’ and it ain’t pretty.

Similar unfavorable things were written in other foreign newspapers. There wasn't the phony hype about the Obamas, rather there was a lot of criticism. I posted one article on here a couple of days ago about Obama refusing to go to Normandy and the cemetary where thousands of American soldiers from WWII are buried.
As to Michelle's appearance: Nothing she does is a class act. Even these so called "pearls" look plastic. She is a combination of drug-store eyelashes, plastic belts, tight dresses,50's style poofy skirts, too-small sweaters, wrinkled jackets, ugly green shoes, and that horrible blouse with a huge bow that reminded me of Bozo the clown, etc. Her fashion sense is in the garbage can, and it looks like that is where she pulls all of her clothing from. What cracks me up is that she has her hair straightened to look like a white person's hair. For someone who despises white people, she sure tries to avoid her natural hair look.
And why does she never seem to wear a wedding band. I have not seen one picture with a wedding band on her hand. At the Inaguration Ball she wore a large fancy ring on her left hand, fourth finger. Maybe I have missed seeing it, but I keep looking. Anyone else notice that lacking?

I too have been on a cyber search for the wedding set. Why? Because I openly admit I am shallow and petty like that...I ‘notice’ wedding sets. Particularly engagement rings. Never seen hers though...hmmmm.
I saw this elsewhere yesterday and couldn’t believe the media spent an entire article on her eyelashes... what I found more interesting was another article about the affect she has had on magazine sales when she is on the cover.. not the article, but the comments to the article, this family is quickly falling out of favor, no matter how much the press wants to prop them up.
I'd agree with you but for the fact that the media has been gushing, sqooshing, and ooshing over how marvelous it is that we have such a fashionista for a first lady even though all of the evidence flies in the face of this farcical assertion. And how classy she is! The classy lady who wasn't proud of this country until her husband was given the Dem nomination, and thinks America is a "downright mean country." She deserves every single solitary bit of criticism as far as I'm concerned.

You know what is so neat about all this? The left continually obsessed with our “image” abroad as long as President Bush was in office. The left won’t admit it, but they KNOW that the Obama’s have Europe and Asia laughing their asses off at Goofy and his wife. Bozo the clown and Pee Wee Herman had better public images.
