Similar unfavorable things were written in other foreign newspapers. There wasn't the phony hype about the Obamas, rather there was a lot of criticism. I posted one article on here a couple of days ago about Obama refusing to go to Normandy and the cemetary where thousands of American soldiers from WWII are buried.
As to Michelle's appearance: Nothing she does is a class act. Even these so called "pearls" look plastic. She is a combination of drug-store eyelashes, plastic belts, tight dresses,50's style poofy skirts, too-small sweaters, wrinkled jackets, ugly green shoes, and that horrible blouse with a huge bow that reminded me of Bozo the clown, etc. Her fashion sense is in the garbage can, and it looks like that is where she pulls all of her clothing from. What cracks me up is that she has her hair straightened to look like a white person's hair. For someone who despises white people, she sure tries to avoid her natural hair look.
And why does she never seem to wear a wedding band. I have not seen one picture with a wedding band on her hand. At the Inaguration Ball she wore a large fancy ring on her left hand, fourth finger. Maybe I have missed seeing it, but I keep looking. Anyone else notice that lacking?

I too have been on a cyber search for the wedding set. Why? Because I openly admit I am shallow and petty like that...I ‘notice’ wedding sets. Particularly engagement rings. Never seen hers though...hmmmm.
You know what is so neat about all this? The left continually obsessed with our “image” abroad as long as President Bush was in office. The left won’t admit it, but they KNOW that the Obama’s have Europe and Asia laughing their asses off at Goofy and his wife. Bozo the clown and Pee Wee Herman had better public images.

I agree. I think a lot of the Europeans felt that way, too. Some of them were too polite to say it, and others simply blurted it out!
Who needs some old wedding band when hubby bestowed upon her a THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLAR diamond, gold and platinum ring to “thank her for all her support during the election.” This received virtually no press coverage in the USA, but did in the UK.
My lefty friends absolutely refused to believe this, that Obama could be “one of the people” and talk about all of us making sacrifices in the economic crisis, and then on Nov. 5 splurge on a $30,000.00 piece of bling for his wife. I had to do quite a bit of searching, found a UK story with a picture of it, I think it might be the same ring, with the diamond so hideously large it looks fake, she wore on inauguration evening.
