Why Coleman Should Drop Out
National Review ^ | 4/8/09 | Ramesh Ponnuru

Posted on 04/08/2009 3:55:55 PM PDT by steve-b

If he keeps up the fight, he is likely to lose, unnecessarily deprive Minnesota of a second senator, end his political career seen as a sore loser, and hurt his party in a state that is eager for this fight to be over. His team has talked enough about further legal challenges that if he leaves now, he will get some points for grace. (Needless to say, that sentiment would not be universal.) But this is, I think, the last moment where he can exit with some dignity....

The longer Al Franken is out of the Senate the better. I hope Coleman fights to the bitter end.

Some may think it's OK for Minnesota to be represented by a clown ~ other's don't.

Coleman should fight to the death to retrieve his seat from the slimey grasp of the Democrats.

I want him to continue fighting just because I know it drives Franken even further over the line than he already is.

Why is this “poser” allowed into what is supposed to be a “Conservative” publication?

Liberals know no bounds and have no shame. This lets them demand any and everything until they get what they want.

Conservatives know bounds and decency and, like the nice guy, finish last if they don’t kick ass when they should.

Kick ass, Coleman, and ignore this idiot!

I think whoever wrote this is full of Democrap. If it has to go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, all valid ballots must be counted fairly. So far, only the Democrats have had their way in the recounting efforts. Why should the GOP retreat when the Democrats never did in Florida in 2000? They started this.

No doubt the posse that went after the James-Younger gang after the Northfield bank job should have given up the pursuit after the first few days. Theft is theft. This is what’s wrong with the soft Right. they won’t fight. For anything...
