The Observer ("Independent Daily of the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College in South Bend") has been running news articles, opinions and letters on the upcoming May 17 Commencement protest almost every day.
It's becoming the focus of many people's sense of crisis, thir more-than-dismay at the way this country is headed, extending beyond "Commencement" and beyond "Catholic."
The two main "action" websites for the May 17 protest are STOP OBAMA and The P.O.P.E. Project ("Prevent Obama from Proclaiming Evil").
It's coming.
And it's going to be big.

And, the media will dutifully call it a “circus” whereas the demonstrations in front of the homes of AIG execs (scaring the heck out of children) was called a demonstration.

Ya
he's the radical. It seems to me that when Person X is marginally pro-infanticide and Person Y is radically anti-infanticide, that Person X is the radical, not person Y.
It's like being marginally pro-child molestation vs. being radically anti-cookie dough ice cream.
Nevermind that Obama was more than marginally pro-infanticide.

I can see it now — they will declare that the President will not be able to attend due to the security threats.
Notre Dame and the President will be off the hook as the media and the liberal pundits declare it a “travesty” — whatever.
As long as BO does not step foot on that sacred ground — works for me.

The gifted activist Randall Terry carries the flag.

This is horrible that Obama is speaking at ND. This so called FR of the Catholic faith is a idol worshiper, not a Christian in any manner.

Oh please no.
Randall Terry had his 15 minutes 20 years ago...
..I know, I was there.....& was supportive at the time.
He has since divorced his wife & left his first family (with much criticism from the real pro-life folks) and changed his faith.....
..yesterday he was Protestant, today he says he's Catholic....tomorrow, who knows.
Randall is a man looking for a cause, and his 'circus' will negate any and all well meaning clergy and honest dissenters during this very important protest.
Yes I am angry & embarassed with his antics.
He craves the limelight!!!

Very well said (although I would seriously question the sanity of anyone who opposed cookie dough ice cream to any extent). ;-)

So what? He is the best pro-life activist in the world. Do you care about the babies or are you more interested in judging the decisions that are between him and the Lord?
BTW, I knew someone would pipe up with this. I hear plenty of it from my pro-life friends.

Yes I care about the babies.
I also care about the dignity & courage of those pastors and priests and students, parents, etc who are concerned about their school and represent Notre Dame...
..and who have the courage to genuinely protest this decision to allow Obama to appear.
Terry will do exactly what he said....make it a circus!
Truly, it's all about him....not HIM, IMO.

From Randy Terry's
Stop Obama Website:
Let me be frank with you: this "war" will not be waged in cyber space.
This is not about emails, and on-line petitions. That is why we are going to South Bend to open an office to "lead a political attack" on the ground.
And...would somebody please educate me on how to copy one of these banners and post it?

To post an image you need to know the URL of the image -- it can't be on a private desktop or laptop hard drive.
Then, you enter <img src="http://my.image.location/imagename.extension>
For example, to post the following image:

Your image is embedded in a PDF document — you probably need to extract it first. It won’t post as a graphic.

Do a search here for “html sandbox”. Find the appropriate instructions and what I did is copy it to notepad and save on your desktop. That way it is always there and you can just copy/paste and edit the text into your post. For images you will need to upload them to a free server. I use photobucket.com. It is real easy to use. Good luck

I still need to find out how to "extract" it and post it as a graphic. Anyone?
