Well, I hope someone offers a course next Fall, taking in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, Fides et Ratio, Newman's Idea of a University, and the debates about Catholic identity, orthodoxy, and the mission of the Catholic university (with respect to the culture of death). No reason to let it just end here.

Yes, the media will malign anyone involved in this, so if someone does not wish to be badmouthed by the media, he should not be publicly pro-life or Catholic. I am, however, grateful for the courageous people like Randall Terry.

"Number one is, there will be very few if any Catholic universities that commit this type of treachery in the near future," he said. "Number two is that we will so politically tar Obama with the blood of the babies that he has condemned to die, that in 2012 he will not be able to seduce the Catholic and the evangelical vote like he was able to in 2008."

May I answer...

I would recommend he stay out of the way....

..and let the outraged citizens, Catholics, Protestants... all who value LIFE... lead this protest....

...Don't let this be about Terry!

Oh, darn, apparently that makes me a nobody. OTOH, you, IH, are a spineless [expletive deleted].

I realize it takes great courage to hurl insults from behind your keyboard. You probably have spine enough for us both.

Operation Rescue definitely leans toward show business.

"You have the most well-known Catholic university in the Western hemisphere inviting the most powerful political proponent of child killing in the Western hemisphere.

Let's hope the public gets educated about Obama and the Born Alive Act. Because of this controversy, the public might get informed.

Interested in what you'd think of this idea.

And could I address a letter to each of these priests (snail-mail) just using the general mailing address for the University of Notre Dame? Or where could I find their addresses?

Anybody?

From AP:

10 Holy Cross priests object to Obama invite

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Ten priests in the Roman Catholic order that helps run the University of Notre Dame want the school to reconsider having President Barack Obama deliver this year's commencement address.

Notre Dame's invitation to Obama has drawn outrage from some Catholics because his stances on abortion and stem cell research are at odds with church teaching.

Ten members of the Congregation of the Holy Cross signed an open letter published Wednesday in the campus newspaper.

They ask Notre Dame's president — the Rev. John Jenkins, also a Holy Cross priest — and the university's board of fellows to reconsider having Obama speak at the May commencement and receive an honorary degree.

Ok, and what do you call this?

Wonder why nobody wants "Operation Rescue" around any more?

If all of the Catholic Bishops and Cardinals raised their united opposition to Obama’s visit to Notre Dame, the invitation to Obama would be recinded immediately. 24 bishops and Cardinals have raised their objections but this is only a small minority of the church leaders in our County.

Can a reasonable person only conclude that the other Bishops and Cardinals are giving their tacit support to abortion?

Randall Terry does send up red flags after this recent faux pas with Archbishop Burke.

Makes you wonder about Terry...

There are 24 bishops and TEN priests from the same order that founded Notre Dame all speaking out against this. What are the odds that one liberal modernist infatuated with Obama is right and all of them are wrong?

You need to examine YOUR pride.

Randal Terry can be a royal pain, I agree.

I made national news once, due to a disagreement that I had with Operation Rescue. I got accused by George Tiller and Judge Patrick Kelly of sending kids into the streets to lay down in front of cars. The truth? I went in to the street to get the kids OUT of the street, and the lying George Tiller and the lying, corrupt Judge Kelly accused ME of actually holding the OPPOSITE opinion in this matter.

To his credit, Randal Terry admitted his error in allowing children to take such risks. In his defense, the girl in question turned 18 a few days after the event. She said to me at the time, “Sir, you could not stop me from going into that building to kill my child, why do you believe you have the right to pull me out of the street?”

I had my disagreements with the man, but he is GOOD at what he does, one of the best there has ever been at street activism.

I have forgiven Randall Terry. YOU need to do the same.

NONE of us is perfect.

I am sure that your efforts, in this cause, can not come close to the results of Randall Terry.

I will reserve the right to argue with Randall Terry, when it comes to legislative issues, but as far as ND goes? He has my FULL SUPPORT!

If I can forgive Operation Rescue and Randal Terry, then I must say that you look rather petty, to me, if you can not do the same.

In this instance, A CIRCUS is what Father Jenkins dearly deserves.

If you were being raped tonight, would you care that the Police Officer who came to rescue you had been divorced or had changed his religious affiliation?

Should the members of the military who get divorced or change their religion feel they are no longer fighting for YOU?

Let it go. It is time for us to unite on this issue.

NOBODY in the conservative cause is pure.

NOBODY!

Yes, that has worked sooo well in dealing with North Korea and Iran. Regardless of Randall Terry’s real & imagined faults, he’s willing to take action. If more of us (myself included) would take more action, 0bambi would be back in Chicago eking out a living from odd jobs.
