Eliot Sptizer's year in the wilderness taught him nothing.....it's still all about him. He popped up on TV to hit the comeback trail....after being caught in consort with a call-girl -- humiliating himself and his family and delivering the state into the stunningly inept hands of then-Lieut Gov Paterson.....it's hard to know which of Spitzer's transgressions was more egregious: * The Ashley Dupre dalliance.....* Or making a play for black votes by placing Paterson just one hooker from the Executive Mansion......the current chaos in Albany may have enticed Spitzer to poke his head out his hidey-hole: his fundamental failure was putting a minimally competent running mate on the ballot......for Spitzer, it was never really about his duties to those who elected him. It was always about -- himself........Spitzer says his wife and children have forgiven him. He should spend more time with them -- and leave the rest of NY alone.

ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN MONIES For his two state campaigns, Spitzer spent a total of about $12M, mostly personal funds and bank loans. Spitzer borrowed about $5M from his father to help settle loans, and was earning $200,000 a year consulting for his father.
During Spitler's 1998 AG campaign, he indignantly denied allegations by his GOP opponent, Dennis Vacco (Vacco is a top-notch pro-life conservative), that Spitler's wealthy father had provided millions in loans to his campaign. Candidate Spitzer insisted he was using only his own money (family members are limited by law to $110,000 in total contributions). Spitler accused Vacco of "smearing" his father. Not until he'd actually taken office did Spitzer admit that Dennis Vacco had been correct. In fact, it turned out Spitzer, despite earlier denials, had done the exact same thing during his unsuccessful 1994 run for AG.
THE END LOOMS The beginning of Gov Spitzers end can be traced to three banking transfers that left his personal account at the North Fork Bank in New York spring and summer 2007. These payments totaling $15,000 attracted the attention of bank employees who monitor accounts for signs of suspicious activity. (NOTE: After 911, money-laundering laws were significantly tightened, requiring banks to file so-called suspicious activity reports whenever there is evidence that clients might be trying to sidestep routine regulations).
THE LAUNDRY Spitzers money transfers to a company called QAT International Inc later revealed to be a front for Brener's Emperors Club brothel were reportedly considered by the bank to be an attempt to avoid another law that requires all transactions over $10,000 to be reported to the US Treasury. Breaking down payments with intent to avoid US Treasury reporting requirements is an offense known as structuring. The Spitzer case commenced when banks noticed frequent transfers from Spitzer's several accounts and filed suspicious activity reports with the IRS (mandated post-911 precautions to hinder financing terrorism). The accounts were traced back to Spitzer, prompting public corruption investigators to open an inquiry.
Spitzers governor's office has also been connected to sophisticated "Destroyer Programs" that erase computer hard drives.
And yet, I’d still rather have Paterson. Of course, I’m plotting my escape from NY.
Let's assign blame where it's due. A Liberal (Spitzer) plunged NY in the darkness of incompetent leadership by:
1) Picking a Lt. Guv on criteria other than proven leadership and,
2) Having loose morals, and lying about them...
Given the first opportunity they were tricking Paterson into signing legisation and policy papers they'd lied to him about.
I noticed the article pointed to Paterson's "ineptness", and I suppose a blind guy might be considered "inept" ~ but let's put the blame where it belongs ~ Spitzer!
Brilliant GIF.
May I suggest you send that in to the Post. they may well print that.
FReeper "dead" gets all the credit. I don't even know how to create these things.
Actually, it is the inept pandering to ethnic groups by the Democrat Party and the rather foolish Mr. Spritzer that placed the inept Mister Paterson.
If you head South, please don’t vote Dem.Thanks!
Nice GIF!
Cheers!
The alleged call girl would likely be a better governor than this dimwitted slug Patterson. Has a better head for business. Better than Pelosi for sure. Is she a Dem?
re: “...better head for business.”
Nice double entendre.
I created that gif from a Van Damm clip. That is not the final version. I updated it to turn that guy on the right in the white sleeveless shirt into Jim McGreevey. I posted it on the internet a few times, but my photoserver went bellyup around the same time my laptop was stolen.
If anybody has a copy of the version with McGreevey included, please let me know.
