WASHINGTON President Barack Obama went for the defining television shot in Iraq and got it pictures of hundreds of U.S. troops cheering wildly as he told them it was time for the Iraqis to take charge of their own future. The war zone photo opportunity produced a stunning show of appreciation for Obama from military men and women who have made great sacrifices, many serving repeated tours in a highly unpopular war.

Obama's reception as the president who is ending the highly unpopular Iraq war could not have contrasted more starkly with the staid, set-piece visits by the conflict's author, former President George W. Bush.
President Bush was ALWAYS mobbed by active duty troops.
The “messiah” exploited the troops for his photo op! What a disgrace.
Until the videos went missing.
Stevie Hurst is earning his kneepads. He’s panting to give Obama a Sinclair
Urrggghhh... This piece of trash propaganda article needs a ‘barf alert’!!
Yes, President Bush was always very warmly welcomed by us troops in Iraq and Afghanistan!!! Obama very carefully CHOOSE this photo op and, as usual, is STILL STUCK ON CAMPAIGNING!!!! There are no words for my disgust with Herr Comrade Fuhrer Obama.
And to the leftist trolls, before you start with the “chicken hawk” BS, I am IN Afghanistan getting my forth combat patch you leftist filthy, cowardly traitors!!!
No mention of the fact President Bush was ALREADY withdrawing troops from Iraq for the past year and that Obama CUT troop surge in Afghanistan by almost half WHILE secretly talking terrorists behind our backs!!!!
BARF!!!
Pravda couldnt have written it better. We are in deep trouble as a nation.
President Bush and the troops do all the heavy lifting and then Obama comes along rides the victory...
Had Obama had his way Iraq would have been a colossal failure but never mind that...
Overthrow the MSM.
I agree but until the Republicans / conservatives who appear on the morning and Sunday shows start taking on the newsreaders asking the questions from the left - our side doesnt have a chance.
Go around the MSM.
And *continuously* speak loudly to their bias.
There’s a reason newspapers are folding (no pun intended).
The very same reason, Fox News Channel - despite being pretty much the electronic equivalent of a tabloid channel - is knocking the stuffing out of the leftwing networks.
People really do see the bias, and they’re not buying it.
Obama isn’t magic. The media is not omnipotent.
2008 happened because the GOP started out the campaign with a circular firing squad, and ended up with history’s worst candidate ever.
That won’t be the case next time.
Don’t lose the faith. Keep fighting.
In fact, fight harder. :)
Keep yelling at Republicans.
If we yell at them louder than liberals do - they’ll get their act together.
Now get out there and yell. Start with David Horowitz.
The best way to defy Obama in your situation is to be very cordial and stoic, with muted applause, no cheering. Give the office of POTUS the respect it is entitled without praising the man in the position. That is the best way to protest (And IMHO probably drives him nuts :).
OK. At the risk of revealing how tragically unhip I am, this is the second thread tonight that I have seen the term “a Sinclair”. Can anyone give me the derivation of that term? It obviously has some meaning derived from some event about which I am unaware.
google “larry sinclair”
...US troops cheering wildly...and in other news, the North Koreans enjoy music from their newly launched satellite...
I assume its a play on Larry Sinclair’s name...he’s the guy who claims to be the Messiahpprompter’s gay lover....and Biden’s son has mis-used his position as AG in Delaware to quiet him up.
Remember this video? Disregard the smears at the end of the piece; watch the reaction when the President surprised the troops.
