Democratic Cook County Commissioner Mike Quigley is cruising tonight in the 5th District race to replace Rahm Emanuel in Congress.
With 45 percent of precincts counted, Quigley had an 8,500-vote lead over Republican Rosanna Pulido and Green Party candidate Matt Reichel.

There is no Republican leadership here on the Northwest side of Chicago.
“One ward committeeman is encouraging Republican voters to write in “Abraham Lincoln” as a protest against her.”

What a tool. That annoys the election workers when you write in a candidate who’s not a registered write in candidate. Stinking RINO pig. Many of the GOP ward committeemen are democrat plants.
Chicago had ward committeeman elections in Feb. 2008. Curry probably hopes that, when he runs for re-election, in 2012, the voters will forget that he was disloyal to a Republican, in March & April 2009.
Mine is a rat plant who’s been there for decades and doesn’t bother to return emails asking why one should vote for him. I voted for his opponent who lost big.
I was referring to the national party morphing into Dem Light, not her. Sorry if I was clear as mud. The party of Amnesty Juan will never be more than a marginal player; it has to return to conservatism and provide the alternative America wants.
“I take this action in order to uphold the integrity of the name of the Republican Party.”
God bless her. She’s remarkable. But that district is a lost cause for anyone but a machine Dem pol. No amount of money would make a rat’s arse difference. At best, in a district like that, you can articulate a message that may get thru to a few people, but they will vote straight Dem no matter who’s on the ticket or how much money has been spent.
I agree that Republicans need to be more conservative. My congressman is Mark Kirk (R-IL). He’s pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-gay marriage, pro-illegal alien, and anti-Iraq surge. I emailed him, four times, and I asked why he’s a Republican. I didn’t get a response. I emailed four of his aides and asked them why he’s a Republican. None of them responded. Next year, he’ll probably run for the U.S. Senate. I hope that he’ll run and lose the primary to a conservative.
Sounds like you were involved in this campaign... Local FRs were asked to turn out . Did they ? What were they assigned to do ?
Were Catholic churches leafleted after their masses ? Were there signs placed on vehicles with Pulido Signs on them along with signs reading stop late term abortions ?
Was there any effort to circulate printed material within precincts (commonly known as “blitzing”) and in particular was this piece used ? Scroll to this

Or this piece using this theme...Vote April 7th...Its Your choice...less taxes... less government.. Rosanna Pulido ..or less change when to the store you go..For a refreshing change give this lady your vote...

I’d sorta like to know
But not seats that are 67-33 Rat.
Party did zilch here. We had this seat as recently as 1997. Look at what occurred with a “nobody” candidate in New Orleans’s LA 2nd. That district hadn’t elected a Republican since 1888, one of the longest Dem-held seats in the nation. In low turnout specials, you can score an upset. The Dems won a string of them in heavily GOP districts during Dubya’s 2nd term.
